    Just had a thot:

Optimus refers to humans as a young race in movie 1, but we see in ROTF that the Primes and the Fallen, who are supposed to be generations before Op and Megs, invade the Earth and stomp on humans who are clearly far evolved from neanderthal man.

Going by the events of Defiance, that puts the Transformers of the movies at less than a million years old, since remnants and lore of the Primes and the Fallen are lost in time by the era of Optimus and Megatron.

That makes humans a much older race.

If it's not in the movie, it can't really be a movie plot mistake. All we see is that the "worlds have met before". We don't know how old the Fallen is when he got here the first time. Maybe we are young to them.

Granted, but the ROTF Fallen character is supposed to be an ancient TF being according to Jetfire as well. But as the humans are very obviously far more evolved than say, Homo Erectus, that gives us a timespan of only about 1 million years or so between the prologue and 2009.

So if Fallen = Ancient and forgotten, and he existed at the dawn or a new race like man, then Optimus Prime can only be a few hundred thousand years old, at most.

He still has no right to call us a young race.

I see Prime and Megatron as 45 year old war-hardened vets.

Taking both films. The Transformers first landed on Earth 19,000 years ago. 12,000 years ago the Allspark crashed. A couple of thousand years ago Seekers were sent to find the Matrix.

Human recorded history is only five thousand years. (China)

Humans are comparably young by both their lifespans and civilization.

Transformers live longer than Humans do. Compared to Autobots and Decepticons relatively more innocent.

Maybe he means it as humans are young and primitive pertaining to Weaponry and knowledge? I mean, while we are using spears, they are building Sun Harvesters and using plasma weapons..

If the Fallen arrived on Earth to destroy our sun in 17.000 BC..and the Allspark was here since 10.000 BC, then there is ' only' 7000 years between the Fallen's defeat and the time the Allspark was lost, IF we assume the Allspark landed on Earth the same year it was launched (which I doubt, I imagined it would travel a long, long time).

is 7000 years really long enough for everybody to forget their heritage, the Primes, and the cybertronian language?

I also have to agree with the OP, unless the Primes had been harvesting stars like they were doing for millions of years, the human race actually seems older :p , even if you consider the comics non-canon.
