I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search of the forums and couldn't find anything recent that asked this.

Personally, here, we have been forced to pay $30 NZD (aprox $23 USD) per deluxe figure for the DOTM line, which is why I've been very hesitant about buying something I'm not 100% in love with.

So, what would be your personal cut-off line for (lets just talk about deluxes) toys, if any? Would you be willing to pay that much, or even more, to keep your collection going?

    :D

I would stop if they cost $20 dollars each.

You need an option for depends on the character because I know in some cases that is the deciding factor, playability also factors in heavily as well. There are just all different kinds of factors that affects this decision for me personally.

Character, playability, color scheme, accessories, other planned purchases, Altmode.

I really can't nail down a gset price range, as with any given deluxe or voyager I would feel differently on what I am getting for my money.

Sales would still come, so I wouldn't worry. I'd just... have to be a little more patient hah

Yup, not sure what option to choose. I would still buy at increased prices if it's figures I felt were worth owning.

I don't think I could really answer the question without being faced with the situation, but increases in price would probably just mean I get increasingly pickier with which toys I buy, rather than setting some arbitrary cutoff point.

... and this probably should go in the toy discussion forum.

I pay about $20 something now and I don't think I would go much past $25. I doubt I would pay as much as $30 or more.

I'll use Deluxe figures as my base on what will stop me buying. Once they hit $15 then I'm done. No more if it ever hits that point.

I ticked "money is no barrier to my collection". Not because I'm a dead flash git with more money than sense, but because money isn't the strongest part of my decision making.

Some toys don't interest me, even when I find them on clearance for £5.

Other toys, I am willing to pay the extra money for a superior paint-job. Henkei Red Alert, Sunstreaker, Smokescreen were all worth the money I paid extra, and have since gone crazy on the secondary market.

Splitting the difference between these two, figures like Generations Hot-Shot, where I'm not too bothered but it's nice to have for the collection, I am happy to wait until I find the figure at the right price.

I would rather have one good figure and pay the price, than eight lame ones.

No issue for me, I only get what I like anyway. So if it came down to it, I'll look at figures that I do like and just cross them off at a time and go for the one I really like out of the group.

Then if the others are still around, I might get them if there is some type of discount going on.

I don't need to get every figure.

25$. That's like 19€. Not that much for a cool figure. But I would prefer if that would not be a regular price.

$20 only if it's from Amazon. At retail, forget it.

I think there's no way toys marketed to kids would end up costing so much collectors couldnt afford even the basic ones.

No issue for me. Prices are pretty much perfect the way they are for what you're presented, as far as mass retail items go.

If there's something terribly expensive [over 100 USD], I just micromanage, sell or cut back if I have to get it.

Transformers are currently the cheapest toys on the market in relation to their complexity and individuality.

Deluxe figures..... I can't really say.

Masterpiece figures on the other hand; if they start hitting that 300+ dollar range, I'll have to call it a day:2c:

wow, $20 is too much? it's pretty much impossible to find deluxe figures below that in Norway.
For official mass produced deluxes I'd draw the line at $35ish, hopefully.

I hear you fellow nordic dude. Transformers are riduculously expensive in Scandinavia. Usually a whole lot cheaper to import them even after shipping and import tax.
