My family is thinking of getting one for our house for our grandmother, and I was wondering how much it would be, installation included.

    Thanks. :)

Dude, I know we're all spotty, overweight nerds, but I don't we're so fat that we need stairlifts.

I would think about calling, I dunno, a company that installs chairlifts. They might do something like send an "estimator" to her house to provide an "estimate."

Why would anyone here know that?

But regardless, I might suggest that a chairlift, regardless of the cost, is almost certainly going to be more expensive than putting Grandma out to pasture, so to speak. :D

But the bonus of a stairlift is that, once granny sadly passes on, you can cheer yourself up by playing with it. You don't get the same fun with a retirement home.

Well, you CAN, but you really shouldn't.

Also, even if I did know how much stairlifts cost, what use would my knowledge of local prices be to someone on Gallifrey?

My first thought upon reading the thread title was "More than a gym membership," but seeing as it's for the elderly, may I suggest a catapult?

    Wow. Random thread.

And I'm sorry, but all I can think about now is that movie where some old lady bites it when her motorized stair chair doohickey catapults her (can't remember the flick for the life of me, though).

Save money- get Orcs to build a pulley system in the walls that connect it to a slave mill in the basement where dwarves do all the work under the crack of a whip.

A retirement home? No, no, I meant "pasture" as a euphemism for euthanasia.
