At retail my guess is about $40. If 20th Anni Prime was 50-60, no way a smaller toy (the size of movie prime) goes for more than that

What was the widespread retail for 20th Anniv. Prime in the US anyways? It always seems to be different. $69.99, $59.99, $79.99.... Which is it?

I'd guess 70. Hopefully it won't fail so hard as 01 did. Hope it isn't a limited release...

SS is more intricate. I think no less than 50 and I'd rather not have to pay more than 60, but who knows.

Size has nothing to do with pricing, it's the detailing and engineering you're paying for. So same price.

    I'm hoping 40-50....

    I'm expecting 60-70.

Hearing he will have more diecast on him than MP03....both a curse (price) and a blessing (yay diecast).

I wonder why they scrap the old mould of Starcream I think its the better one. If you scale MP-03 to that of MP-01 and MP-05 how big is the jet mode going to be? Any wiz out there who can make a calculation?

The heck? I guess the news passed me by by the blink of an eye or you could say I was living under a rock but MP-03 has been approved by Hasbro? And more diecast? When did this news officially broke anyways? I always keep updated with the TFW 2005 and TFormers.com front page news. I don't remember seeing this being reported. lol

Eh, it'll get knocked down to $50 on clearance eventually, whatever the retail price.

Considering (Movie) leader Class Prime is $40 - 45, some of the prices talked about in this thread are rather optimistic.

Well, factoring in the relative sizes of a 1980's era Streamliner cab-over semi, and The Boeing (formerly McDonnell Douglas) F-15 Eagle, and adjusting for increases in dimensions due to transformation, I calculate his size would be approximately HUGE.

Seriously, there's a pic around here showing all the current TF movie vehicles together, including Starscream and Optimus. Now the F-22 Raptor is significantly larger than an F-15 Eagle, but by the same token a long-nose Semi with full sleeper cab is considerably larger than a simple cab-over semi. Movie Starscream's transformation to robot mode compacts his dramatically, while Masterpiece Starscream expands (As most TFs do). In-scale, he'd TOWER over Masterpiece Optimus.

As far as I know, that "more die-cast" part is totally made up, just like Leader Prime with die-cast, Leader Starscream and Voyager Bonecrusher.

Here's the news story, it broke a couple of weeks ago.

    http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.php?t=135639

The more diecast thing is purely speculation though. Because of a fairly vague translation of info released about MP-06 Skywarp that it might possibly have more diecast, many have assumed that the same would be true of Hasbro's Starscream.

It's not really a "smaller" toy though. It's shorter in robot mode, but covers a larger space in vehicle mode. I remember people throwing fits about his pricing-per-size when he came out as a masterpiece, and I'd hate to see people setting themselves up for the same angry reaction on the Hasbro release. It'll be the same retail price as 20th Prime was. To assume otherwise would be like assuming they're going to lower the price-point of a smaller deluxe to seven dollars instead of ten because, "It's shorter in robot mode, which means it's smaller." That's just not the way it's going to go down.
