    Oh dear, it's uncanny!

Seriously, I would never buy a Black Zarak for any amount of money, ever. The toy is defective and will break. It can break in the box, and will break if you touch it, and I see no reason to buy a toy I cannot touch. The actual price has nothing to do with my ire, I have plenty of JP-G1 stuff (Metalhawk, Metrotitan, Go Shooter, and Dezaras on the way!), but I've resigned myself to the fact that I am not going to own a BZ unless it is reissued with unbreakable gold plastic.

Good luck with your purchase. Black Zarak averages $900 or so for a lose and complete model in good condition. I've uploaded a photoshoot of my own Black Zarak to the Resources section (Black Zarak - Transformers Masterforce - Transformers Resources). I got my BZ for a one-time deal of $300 with all of his accessories. I got such a nice break because I spent over $600 with the same guy on other plastic-crack *masters Transformers.

My figure has great plastic everywhere on his main body with the exception of the hinge for the tail; half of the rod snapped off before I got it. Transformation and display is unaffected, but it does count as broken still. Guard Minder looks like a victim of Cosmic Rust and the gold shield has half of the slot where it attaches to the arm missing. Thankfully its the lower portion so gravity keeps it propped up on his arms. The pictures show the first (and last) time I transformed BZ. If I want to transform that mold again I'll just grab my Scorponok.

    ~Z

PS: The gold plastic is notorious because it's a combination of two different types of plastic that never quite set. One is gold and the other is black; that lovely marbleized pattern can shatter anywhere at anytime. It's frightening.

See, toys that can't be touched suck, and toys that cost multiple C-notes to do it are just right out!

I am big into Japanese TFs, and I'm not interested in buying a Black Zarak. I'd just break it. My Roadblock and Skyhammer are bad enough without busted triple-figure stuff.

Just for the sake of having it? Dude, that's really just wasted money outside of bragging rights. You'd essentialy just pay a large amount of $$$ for a figure in a box that in maybe 20 years from now will magicaly turn into a pile of cheap plastic in a box not worth even 1/8th of the price you paid in all likleyhood.

If you really need a Black Zarak, however, give a commission to one of the Radicons who do that kind of thing, you'd probably get a figure that's WAAAY cooler and better than the authentic BZ and you'd also probably pay less than what you'dve paid for an authentic BZ anyways.

Got mine MIB for $420 back in the day, shipped overseas via UPS with no problem. Ever since, a friend of mine broke the shield. It's worth it if you like the character - it's ALWAYS worth it then. But if you're "into japanese TFs" or some crap like that, I'd recommend you avoid it. Prices will go down and it's more for us who actually care.
