i dont know if this has been discussed before. but im very curious as to how much you spent on JUST YOUR TRANSFORMERS COLLECTION so far. this does not include other toy collections or extras to sell. only what your keeping in your collection. they add up super fast for me. i just started 3 months ago. as for transformers i only collect g1. so this kind of limits my collection size. im a misb collector, so each smaller pieces is costing me around 40.00 to 60.00ea. all the larger pieces are costing me around 100.00 a piece such as the star saber reissue, purple galvatron reissue, etc. 200.00 for pieces like sixshot misb condition reissue. same prices for the ko reissues of g1 reissues. so right now i only have about 25 pieces. the amout i spent so far just for all takara reissues and high quality ko reissues is about 4000.00. so i cant even imagine how much youguys are paying for the movie toys, beast wars, rid line, animated etc. i used to collect other lines which added up way more. but now its somewhat limited for me. how much did you guys (i figure no females collect transformers) spent so far on your transformers? im just wondering if im crazy to spend so much on plastic toys? when i could be using the money for other things.

$1,000-$1,500 my collection is smallish ( 193 soon to be 195 figures) and i don't go after the high priced exclusive figs or may high dollar figs as I am not able to afford them.

I guess I've prolly spent around 6k over the past 10 years. Mostly sealed new stuff and out of package G1 struff over the years. And btw girl collectors are out there as you will mostl likely find out when they read this lol.

At least $500, but no more than about $850. But that will change soon :)

My collection of 400 or so figures probably fetches a pretty good price. Still, it's DWARFED by the sheer size of some of the other collections I've seen on here.

Maybe something just shy of $500, max, for my 120-ish figure collection. Most of my TF's were either aquired cheaply or were gifts to me.

$1000's over the last 10-15 years.

But then again, I buy almost exclusively in lots (from eBay, locally, craigslist, etc), keep what I need, sell the extras, so I consider my collection paid for and then some.

I am still trying to put a price tag on my collection, and eventually sell off parts of it. I had a dryspell after G1 ended and started back at in the early 2000's. My son got me back in to Transformers. I don't regret it, but today has been a perfect example of how consuming it can be. I spent a beautiful Sunday going to two different states to get a Universe Hardhead. I went to like 5 walmarts before success on my way home. Also went to Toys R Us and a couple of targets in my 150 mile trek. Long story short I am getting pickier about what I spend my money on (I have a great job and I am buying a house, but Financial prioritization is a must nowadays) and I have a very loving wife.

For some (myself included) Plastic Crack is an addiction, just try not to let it consume you, or your wallet. Having said that, there are worse vices than collecting transformer toys.

Rock on with your collecting and enjoy.

    Urrrraaaaaaaa...ummmmmm...yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah...

I have spent enough...for the 60 or so figures I have...90% of the time, I buy exclusives and rare figures (such as Lucky Draw figures) so I've spent some crispy bills here and there :lolol

wow i dont know how some of you do it. 1000.00 for 10 to 15 years? i wouldnt be able to get just all the new ko for that price. i order 10 ko transformers misb for more than 1000.00 (mostly smaller ones). so a few is were im at 5k. since these things are so expensive. i mean each moc figure from rotf is already 8.00 to 10.00 each. ive seen some with like 50 figures in some collection pics on this site. im curious if anyone spent 25-50,000.00 or even more, on thier collection? i mean its not hard at all to do that. when i used to collect everything from diffrent collections i was up to 30k easy. so now i just limit myself to just g1 mainly. a few gi joes 25th reissues, a couple of he man. but not much of anything other than just g1s for me. i cant fill my house up with toys anymore. come on i know there more of you who buys all transformers from every single series. let us know how much you spent!

Just under $1,000 for me. So far........................... Half of mine are more affordable TRU re-issues so that helps keep cost down.
