    hi guys,

just joined this site, as i was just thinking about my box of old transformers i have at home in my parents attic.
googled it to find out the names of it, cos i can't remember.
turns out its a menasor g1 giftset?? all the little cars and a truck join up to make one big guy.
all the bits are there, but the box is slightly ripped, from when i couldnt wait to open it on christmas morning all them years ago...
i remember my dad telling me not to rip the box lol
i never really used it and its been in my parents attic ever since.

    is it worth selling??

If you don't really want it any more it is definitely worth selling. Depending on the conditon you can probably get somewhere between $400 and $700 for it. Post some pics and I am sure you'll get some offers from members here.

It's worth a lot. You will be pleased if you sell it.

3 posts and a KO out, buyer beware on this one.

i never even realised there was a "knock off" until I looked on the net last night. But I understand how people would be wary of buying a KO.

what would i have to show in the pics, that would prove that they are real?
i noticed the KO don't have the holograms on them. Mine obviously do.

Is there any other specific pics of the box or anything else I should take to show the difference between mine and a KO??

Dont worry about it, as long as you know its real thats good enough. Whoever wants to buy it can ask for proof thats it real. Yes the ko versions came out not long ago, they are being sold on ebay as reissues, since they are so close to the originals. Hell I cant eve tell the differece between either version.

The MOtormaster gives it away. The heads on the arm guys might not want to lock into place on the ko motormaster. Also, the ko parts will be "dull" or "flat" finished looking while the real deal is a but more glossy. Owning both, that's how I can tell. There might be other ways.

Post some pictures - the real ones in the original giftset box can go for big money.

The mensor is the 4th hardes Us giftset to get in a normal good condition a opend one would go for atleast 500. If you have an authenthic one there are id guidlines online you should use and post several pics of the box, parts, stamps under the bots and so on to verifie that this is an original. This will attract more bidders.

Yeah, they sure are expensive. There is always trying to get them at retail by crying that you missed out or some people even turn to scalping toys to pay for them.

Menasor set is really rare though, if it was me and I didn't really collect Transformers I'd throw it out on Ebay. Not much else you can do.

    Check for a raised stamp on the figure itself, sometimes it's on the back of the head or somewhere on the body. If it is authentic it should say Takara, or Hasbro and the year of manufacture. Here is a quick guide that will help you also;

why is those top two cars flip around on the real and ko versions? btw the ko doesnt really look that dark compared to the real box art, does it? or is it just the lighting? the ko box looks so dark in this pic.
