title says it all.
It's worth as much as you're willing to pay for it.
They made a soft cover version???
They are on Ebay for $75 at the moment
I had to get my copy from eBay but I didn't pay that much. $29.95 if I recall. Those B*st*rds at 88MPH returned my payment after I had waited for almost a year, and it it wasn't for a good friend, Iwould never have gotten the promotional poster of Optimus Prime. It's a great Transformers art book, IMHO.
Did the artists ever get paid for their work on that book? Or was that for another art book?
If not, then eBay probably shouldnt allow that thing to be sold like that, when the original artists never got their fair share for the work they did.
You mean the book was actually printed?
Yep I got one a long time ago and I noticed last wednesday that my local comic shop still has one on the shelf
not as far as I know, despite numerous assurances from Sebastien Clavet at 88MPH that they would. The whole situation was a disgrace, and one repeated by Dreamwave more recently.
I enjoyed the artbook. Shame what happened to it. I would pay cover price but not more then that.
Well cover price was $30, got it for about that including shipping off Amazon.com. Yep they sold them there, and got em before the people who ordered direct.
$75 is just ridiculous, it's got some really nice artwork in there, but it's still just that, an Art of Transformers book. Decent variety in there, even the odd EJ Su piece.
I got it from Amazon. It was worth the money, but I'm kinda ashamed to own it.
what happened to it?
Pre-ordered it from 88mph, and got my money stolen. My local comic shop has a dusty stack of them and I've vowed never to buy another copy as I already paid for the one I never got. If the suckers on ebay are paying 75+, then maybe its time to go clean out my comic store...
something like the pat lee thingy happened? that sucks.
I really wish things could have worked out better, because I was looking forward to the second book. Which was supose to feature G1 Box art.
I've been out of the loop for a year or two, I knew dreamwave went out of business but it's sounding like they went as bad as 88MPH did. Anyone have the story or a link that can catch me up on this?
Paid 88mph, never got paid back, never got a book
