as someone whos never been to a botcon.
im wondering how much the actualy figures sell for at botcon.
i see people on the boards sell the sets for insanely high prices.

It probably costs less to buy ever single figure offered while actually attending, then it costs to buy just the box set on the aftermarket.

Don't forget that if you buy the items at the con you also have to pay sales tax. For California it was 9.75%.

from what i understand the sdcc exclusives don't cost much (if any) more than regular retail price, the only problem is getting there/get in line before everything's sold out.

SDCC Exclusives are made by Hasbro and generally have the same production run as, say, a Target exclusive. Because of these large runs, they're also often sold as normal retail toys in other countries (Singapore, Australia, etc).

Botcon exclusives, on the other hand, are designed and distributed by the people running the convention and aren't available anywhere else (well, factory samples being swiped out the back door notwithstanding), and have very small production numbers
