I have been collecting Transformers for a while and I've recently been into getting the Repaints and Remolds of Certain Figures. I've noticed that there are certain figure molds that usually end up with at least 3 figures from that same mold.

I just wonder how many Figures Hasbro Makes from a single mold before they stop.

    Here's the ones I've got:

Energon Strongarm - His Repaints are: Movie Crosswise, Movie Strongarm[Green] Energon Strongarm [Yellow]

Energon Arcee- Her Repaints are Movie Exclusive Elita 1, Arcee [Blue]

    Energon Signal Flare and Offshoot

Energon Skyblast- His Repaint s are Movie Skyblast, and Air Raid

Cybertron Evac- His Repaints are Blades and Springer

Cybertron Thundercracker- His Repaints are Movie Dreadwing, and Skywarp

Movie Bumblebee Camero Concept -His Repaints are Movie Cliffjumper, Stealth Bumblebee, Battle Damaged Bumblebee, Premium Class Bumblebee

Cybertron Crumplezone- His Remold is Dark Crumplezone [And I think he had a botcon Remold into a Optimus Primal for one of the Box Sets I believe]

Universe/Classics Jetfire- His Repaint is Treadbolt [Not sure I think he had a Botcon exclusive repaint in that Games of Decepticon set.

Cybertron Wingsaber - He had a Repaint for the Movie released as a Toys R Us Exclusive Wingblade.

Cybertron Defense Team Scattorshot- Has like 3 Repaints for Universe alone I believe.

Cybertron Hot Shot- Excellion and Breakaway are his repaints.

Animated Starscream- His Repaints are: Skywarp, and Sunstorm the upcoming Target Exclusive.

Those are the ones off the top of my own list that I can think of.

Anyone else know any other repaints/remolds of the same character and how many have been released based off the first version.

The Classics Starscream mold was repainted about 14 different times I think.

Till the mold deteriorates too much,
and the amount of time/uses it takes to do that varies from mold to mold.

And plus they probably know us as fans and collectors get tired of seeing like 3-4 different repaints of one figure when they need to release new and original figures.

Though the only true figure I'd get just cause it's repaint is always the seekers.

The reason they repaint is because to cover the costs of designing and engineering a new mold, they have to release it more than once. Also they know no matter how many times they do it, SOMEONE will buy it.

I should have expanded on that.....

    More of the question is:

How many repaints/remolds of a certain figure are there out there. I'd LOVE to have a master list of all the figures that have repaints and remolds.

After reading you list, I noticed that you're missing possibly the most re-used mold of all time in all likleyhood: G1 Bruticus.

We've gotten so many versions of him, and now we're getting Encore of him, too. It's like the mold that won't die.

Classics Prime has had a ton of repaints as well.

Classics Prime, Ultra Magnus, Shattered Glass Prime, Nemesis Prime, Henkei Convoy, Crystal Convoy

    Think that might be it.

Just clearing up a few things in your original list. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, just trying to help:

And as for Classics Starscream...let's see, Skywarp, Ramjet, Thundercracker, Thrust, Dirge, Acid Storm, Universe Starscream, and Henkei versions of all of them except Acid Storm. That's 13.

Another monster-repaint mold is Cybertron Clocker. That got Cyb. Swerve, Movie Clocker and Botcon Cheetor and Tigatron. Plus it was the model for the entire Maximal Command Security Force.

And your sig quote comes from Coming of the Fuzors Part 2. Just thought you might wanna know ;) .

Thanks for the extra info...I forgot about those movie scene sets.....

There really NEEDS to be a master list of remolds and repaints for those of us who want to be completists.

    Forgot to mention:

Energon Megatron and his Repaint Energon Galvatron [And I'm not aware of any Japanese Repaints for him]

Energon Inferno and of course his repaint Roadblock

Movie Leader Class Brawl and Deep Desert Brawl

Still though that seems like a worthy job for someone to do for the whole Transformers Collecting Community is come up with a MASTER List of every transformer repaint/remold.

There are at least 3 repaints/remolds of friggin' Armada Sideswipe. In addition to the original abomination, there was Dead End packed with Bendy Magnus, another repaint in the same batch of 2-packs, plus Cybertron Runamuck w/a new head.

The RiD Car Brothers got repainted into oblivion as well. The originals, the in-line repaints, OTFCC exclusives, Universe, and those WM exclusives with the faction symbols that were almost bigger than the mold itself.

Heh heh heh... if that's all of the figures you can think of that have been remolded/repainted...

It's kind of Hasbro's thing. I'd say the only thing they can do better than making cool robot designs is repainting and remolding the hell out of them. Me, I'm not complaining. Gives opportunity for good army-building, variety, and a chance to get figures I missed out on.

But yeah, I don't rightly know when remolding becomes too much remolding.

They need to release a blue one, so I can be prepared when the Powered Convoy armor is released!

    It'll happen. Just wait.
