How many days do you normally wait before reporting a non paying buyer?

My auction ended on Friday 6/3, and its now 4 days later. I did not make any comments on my listing that said pay within 3 days of the auction ending. I assumed that was the normal policy. So am I screwed now? or should I give the buyer a few more days? Also I resent the invoice twice now in hopes he got the message.

    Thanks for you input.

just do it now, it takes another 7 days for the non paying report to complete, the buyer can pay any time during, 12 days total is plenty

My auction rules always state that payment must be completed within 3 working days of the winning bid. On the 4th day I e-mail the winning bidder asking for payment and as soon as it hits day 5 without me getting any money I open a non-payment case.

I would start the process. Sending two invoices is plenty.

I thought about doing the automation thing but sometimes the buyers do send a message so i give them a few extra days.

You might want to consider that some people might be out of town on vacation. It wouldn't hurt starting the process in a few days, if you start it too soon the guy might pay and then leave you a negative for basically calling him out.... I know it's childish but then again....so is eVILbay....

back in the day, mostly everyone stated in the description, "payment due within 7 days". Times have changed though. When I sell on ebay, I don't state a payment due date, and I always file a non-payment after the 7th day, depending on the situation (no contact or replies from the buyer)

I give them the full 7 days before i file.

After the claim i leave positive negative feedback since buyers get away with murder now.

3 days. I do have a question though, can it bite you on the ass and the buyer leave a negative?

If the buyer pays, then yes.
