And I think Hook was god awful both as a kid and as an adult - its all opinions sir - doesnt erase the fact that they were trying to target both audiences. And by the looks of it they have been successful even if it wasnt the academy award material you apparently were hoping for...

Is it really that unreasonable to want that? I love transformers and I wish the movie was that good. I guess it is a shame that wanting something to excel is looked upon negatively.

everything has it's place. I know this is the internets an nobody is honest, but I am not going to be a hypocrite. sure I've watched porn, but I would not show it to my kids.

 

I didnt hate the movie but its really just not a good movie. I can totally understand all the complaints. If this was not a Transformers film but some other movie of the same standard I would feel exactly the same way.
Why is it so terrible for people who are fans of Transformers to dislike the film? Especially when they often give good reasons why they dont like it. Why cant people of expected and wanted more rather than just accepting whatever is given.
Their is just as much love as hate on the boards for this film. Thats what fan site boards are for. People to voice their opinion on the franchise they love, be it positive or negative.

 

I'll agree that people need to calm down, but it's important to voice our opinions on the movie so that the cast and crew can take all the feedback into making Transformers 3.

Trying to belittle the debate itself is just avoiding the issue.

I found some of the "low-class" humor funny, but it did get very old after awhile and was over the top. I think the worst of it was seeing the dogs humping TWICE, and then havign Wheelie humping Megan's leg for like two whole minutes, and then Simmons's rear end. Those were rather unnecessary.

 

 
so basically, in answer to my question, I can't have a better, more intelligently crafted movie? Wanting that is unreasonable?

Well, considering that we have a contest that basically tells everyone to say "fuck you" to everyone else who didn't like the movie, I'd say that we have no standards whatsoever.

No, Megatron wasn't enough. We had about 20 minutes of him. Now we've got a main villain, and a coherent plan that the villain has. And you're still complaining?

Kids like the robot that sings. It endears them to the already endearing kid-appeal character.

And I like this aspect of Bumblebee. It's funny, IMO.  

Now who's insulting who's intelligence? You don't think those who liked the movie thought about if they liked it?

Allow me to say it. YES. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE WHOLE THING, TOILET HUMOR AND ALL. ( Except Simmons' package and thong. D: ) I wouldn't mind more of the same in TF3. The action sequences and robot character development have improved.

I saw that movie when I was about ten. Nothing about it was bad that I remember.

I am old like you and i am rare in the fact that I dont like blazing saddles either lol sorry - I appreciate old movies and am very picky and critical usually but this was what it was and I liked it for that.

 

Movie = good.

I dont remember them ever using his name in the movie so doesn't he just show up unexplained and then die? How is anyone supposed to know that its a different robot and not just that other one back alive again for some reason.

And the toilet humor is certainly not what is carrying this movie.

As a 'popcorn movie', I really don't think you could get any better. The Twins made me laugh, the robot cursin' and the humor made me chuckle (especially seeing as how it was 'PG' here in Canada). The effects were great. I liked it, but if you're going to analyze it and strip it down to its barest essentials, the movie would need about an extra 45 minutes added in to make the story flow well - which I'd love to see happen for the DVD but which I doubt very much. Still, I was happy to throw down my $9.50 to see it, and I'll probably drop it again in a week or two to see it again.

 

This...except for the Blazing Saddles part that is a priceless Mel Brooks movie.

Also it seems that if you like TF2 you are somehow dumber then a person that didn't like it....lol. I never knew that your taste in a book or movie automatically makes you more intelligent then someone. Who knew!!!!

 

Whinny fans = entertainment.

Whinny defenders = even more entertainment.

Movie = not so entertaining.

I say that TF2 did it's job as a sequel. It reeled in a lot of viewers, and many of them were entertained, even me at some parts. Sure, the toilet humor was stupid, but the twins and Jetfire were hilarious! But IMO, TF3 will probably try to build upon the live action franchise without using the silly humor that TF2 was doused with.

Such was said about TF2 after TF1 came out. Just don't get your expectations up. In fact - expect even more toilet humor.
