Never. There are thousands of unicrons in circulation. As many gestalts as we see, how many is it really? Less than 20? Don't be concerned.

They have become less available for sure since I bought my first one several months ago. I used to search "Unicron" on ebay and get 20+ results, now I get like 3, and they are priced a lot higher.

Not to worry, I have 15 of him here lol.

All the more reason to go the extra mile and engineer self-contained combiners.

What about Metroplex or Omega Supreme from Energon and Cybertron? They also have large limbs, I'm sure we haven't seen the last giant figure either. Why not rediculously big animated Prime for an animated gestalt. I think this style is pretty cool and looks like a challenge for anyone doing it for the first time. This engineering of Transformers customs I couldn't see as being in threat. Though I'm curious to see what we get presented with next when Unicron becomes scarce. :)

Don't forget Dart Vader/Death Star. I think we'll be seeing that utilized because it's a new idea and you can grab a loose one for 10-12 bucks shipped!

How about a micro gestalt with deluxe limbs? I'd like to see Six-builder myself.

Workin' on Smaller Gestalts for my "desktop" series! First up will be Bruticus Minimus, Legends sized limbs, with a scout-ish sized body!

I do have plans for a SixBuilder sized Devastator with full articulation on the slate!

I think Primus and Starscream are more likely to run out, Unicron was produced in higher numbers and was recently reissued.

Yes, I don't have much display space. Also I don't really like a lot of clutter, too much dusting!  I have always liked small TFs, they are easy to move from room to room, wherever you go. I always seem to have one in my hands, very therapeutic! I am messing with my Legends Cyclonus as I type!:thumb

Yep, love the little guys. Back on topic, maybe some Voltron parts could be used to give the big combiners some new flavor. I don't know haw well articulated they are, but i do know they come BIG!:thumb

Sometimes, the Unicron/Primus parts aren't needed. Take a look at that Superion on eBay a few months ago. Granted, the individual bots could've used some more work, but the combined form looked awesome...and he took advantage of Silverbolt's long legs.

It all depends on the molds you're trying to use.

My proposed Road Caesar project will connect with as few parts as possible. Not to say it won't be a partsformer in some sense (foot/chest plates, combiner head, etc.).

That's a good point. I don't frown upon "partsformers" Gestalt or otherwise. A good custom is a good custom, end of story. It's very hard to pull off a "perfect" Gestalt, we've seen precious few official ones in fact! I would like to see the kitbash community stray away from the "formula" of "mandatory" Unicron/Primus waist/forearms. It shows a bit of laziness on the artist's part, when I know darn well we have the chops to do something else!:thumbs2:

Well, unicron's waist and upper legs are the perfect size for deluxe sized gestalt, with minimal work. end of story. I do have one planned for using Vader...but all in all, why not use something that is proportionately correct and looks good? So what if it's overused, imo, Moe's Superion looks 10x better than the one on ebay, the one on ebay had skinny looking upper legs and fat thick lower legs, looked odd to me.
