I havent seen a custom BB go for this high since Jin's. Any theories? NOTE: the item's location is in Hong Kong.

The battle face rocks, that's why, but I too think it's too expensive... Why haven't hasbro released a BB like this?

Its an interesting concept...he's the only person to actually repaint the entire vehicle (that I know of), but the back of the vehicle and the license plate look horrible.

I swear I see a fingerprint, or smudge mark on the rear quarter panel on the driver's side.

BUT...it does have some nice stuff...movie head, battle mode head, chrome door handles, wipers, mirrors, etc.

Sorry, but no deluxe is worth that much. Unless covered in gold, encrusted with diamonds, kissed by the pope, and autographed by Mother Theresa. Oh yeah, and you can see Jesus through the windshield.

 

Plus its being sold outta Hong Kong so there might be a local bidder involved.....customs seem to have more "value" in Asia.

 

All that work and they didn't even manage to get the heel spurs right.

 

It's pretty much as accurate as you can get to Movie BB without any drastic mold changes(except for the mask). The price is way too high, though

I wish I could make a battle mask. Actually, I wish Hasbro made one. Seems to be the main reason for the price.

 

it's beautiful. doesn't look painted, that's a key factor.

Well, I dont mean to brag or anything, but this is my BB and he went for only 76.00

 

I honestly think the huge thrill of this custom is that the entire vehicle is painted...

Although if you look at the driver's side rear fender, and right under the driver side mirror, you will where the paint didn't settle real well. Still a very good paint job, but for about $800...that paint job better be perfect.

It also looks like he printed the stripes out with decal paper...cause on the drivers side it looks like its popping up a little bit around the hood area.

Yours looks fine, DvDqNoC, $76 is a well earned chunk of change. Yours even has the "movie-accurate" gold chevy bow-tie on the front bumper, hahaha!

 

Not to brag either but.....


I personally think the color he is is more acurate to the movie. I have to give props to those heads though.

I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to actually follow through on a bid that high. At least I hope not.

HAHA. Not really.

But in my line of work, I heard a guy who had been airbrushing for 25 years. He called most artists "crabs in a bucket". If one is crawling out, others try to drag him back down.
Lets face it. Having a slite ego is part of being an artist. We all like to have our work appreciated. And if we see somebody elses getting more attention, we tend to get a little bit urked. While I personally would not pay that much for bumblebee, somebody will.... maybe. That's just what you get when you let someone else pick the price.
Buy the way, I want to know how you made the mask. That's awsome.

 

That is awesome work. It deserved more.

 

Too many people with too much money and no willpower to go to the store, spend 5 bucks on paint, and 20 minutes doing simple drybrushing that anyone can do.

I mean, its SO easy, and this isn't even amateur-Warhammer-40k0player level drybrushing. Not to mention the battle mask has that hand sculpted uneveness... its lump and parts don't even line up right.


I mean, everyone is doing a BB custom. They're a dime a dozen, yet some go for hundreds of dollars. People are nuts. And rich.
