How is it that Uni Cyclonus is so awesome, but Uni Galvatron sucks?

I just got Universe Cyclonus. Great figure. But since he is Galvatrons right hand man. I noticed just how much better Cyclonus is in terms of construction and looks. He looks really good, just like his G1 self. But Galvatron upon retrospect makes me scratch my head.

How did a high profile character like Galvatron get the shaft, but Cyclonus get the good treatment?

The Universe line is a bit confusing would'nt you agree?

This thread makes no sense because Galvatron is awesome.

The real issue is the lack of Scourge. The 6"Tit one is a poor substitute.

Well, that's debatable for sure. Galvatron just feels inferior to Cyclonus. He has too many loose parts, and he just feels too complicated, where as Cyclonus is really simple, but awesome.

I don't know. I've had some mixed feelings on Galvatron.

Woe is the fan who gets a Galvatron with poor joint tolerances. I've got a Galvatron with tight joints, and he's one of my favourite figures ever.

I guess the disparity in their designs is due to the overall goals of the line, though. Galvatron was produced during the "realistic vehicle" phase of the line, hence the reimagined design. Whereas Cyclonus is part of the "25th Anniversary" portion, so that original focus was somewhat eschewed in favour of a closer homage.

I agree on the Scourge part. We need a better Scourge.

I personally like Uni Galvy, but I can see why a lot of people don't dig him.

I think it comes down to not being able to make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. I'd see it as Galvatron being part of the learning curve on the road to making better and better toys. The whole "learning from your mistakes" thing.

I am really hoping that I won't be too disappointed with Galvatron. I am going to pick up Henkei one to go with Cyclonus.

Galvatron is not bad, and I agree with the idea of lacking of Scourge. I wish I could have this team in this year.

Right here. Galvatron was originally designed to be a larger price point, and at some time in the development cycle it was decided to make him a deluxe. Rather than go back and redesign everything they just scaled him down in size to the Deluxe pricepoint and went with it.

I actually like my Galvatron alright. He's a bit of a departure from classic and he does have some issues during tranformation, but I've gotten and seen worse figures.

    I bought Uni Galvatron.

He's in a box somewhere. Unopened. I should find him.

I really, REALLY liked mine. It was the henkei version, most joints were nice and tight, nothing popped off, but the damn cannon ball socket was malformed and would not stay put for the life of it.

So he's going back to BBTS, hopefully I'll pick a better one as a combo with henkei Cyclonus soon.

That's why I'm making my own Galvatron from the Classics Megatron mold.

I like Uni Galvatron. Nah he's not the best of the line, but he looks really good, has a nice, complex transformation, and beyond being a bit too complex for the size class and some problems with joints (which is not a 100% widespread issue) he is great.

Galvatron's one of my favorites, but I'm waiting for Henkei for Cyclonus.

i agree with the OP, its kinda sad.. well, galvatron isnt that bad.. i really like the mold, its just a shame that it doesnt stand too well, and of course the loose joints etc.. but cyclonus is just so AWESOME, that galvy looks and feels positively bad next to him, imo :D  cyclonus is definitely my fav universe figure so far..
