How important is the BotCon pin -- really? I see TFSource putting the first day pin and golden ticket pins up for sale, and it got me thinking -- does anyone collect those things?

The pins have come with the boxsets since FunPub took over. Mine sit in the box. If t-shirts and posters are sold as extras at BotCon, shouldn't the pin be sold in the same fashion?

Would you support a pin-less BotCon boxset if it means decreasing the price, even by a little?

I'm not sure how much the cost would decrease to be honest. I like them. It's nice that they're in the set.

first day pin is different than the pin that comes in the boxed set. the pin in the boxed set has the name of the city of the convention dangling from a emblem, where as the first day pin is some sort of reference to the theme of the convention. I'd say the pin in the boxed set should come with the set if you buy the box, but the first day pin is up for grabs.

There are people who collect them. I know I've seen several people at BOTCON with their lanyard covered in pins. I'm not a big fan of the pin that comes in the convention set, although it is nice to help remind me of where BOTCON was. The first 100/day pin I really like since its the emblem for the BOTCON theme, which I find cool.

If they removed the pins, I wouldn't cry over it, but I don't think it would reduce the price by much.

The pin is lame. I see no point to it. The toys are what's important.

I got an extra $10 for including the first day pin when I sold my box set so I can only approve of it, I guess.

I can't imagine that removing the pin would reduce the price. There's a certain price level that these sets are offered for (and sell out at). Fun publications isn't going to go out of their way to find ways to lower that amount. Even if you saw a removal of the pin, I highly doubt you'd see any sort of cost saving included.
