    RiD's best part-this shark!

the only 2 sharks better than Sky-Byte are:
    1.Bruce
    2.Salsa Shark

i haven't watched all that much of RiD, but i like Sky-Byte.

Sky Byte is smashing. A great character, his attempts to curry favour with megatron frequently undone by Dark Scream, Gas Skunk and Slapper, who routinely made a mess of any mission they were involved in. I liked the rivallry with Scourge, the lick spittle toady!

Sky Byte's toy is also a thing of beauty. Its got a really great paint job/ deco and a nice use of chrome. Much better than the ugly green and grey of TMII Cybershark, with whom he shares a mould.

RiD as a cartoon gets a hard time. It came out after the deeper and more complex Beast Wars / Beast Machines, and the effect is quite jarring. its much lighter in tone and approach, and has more in common with Samurai Pizza Cats and Ox Tales. I've watched it through a few times and love it. Its just fun. And given the ponderous nature of the Armada/Energon/Cybertron cartoons and their tedious power struggles and wooden animation, I'll take the light hearted appraoch of RiD over them any day.

A complete joke of a character. A flying mechanical shark that recites Haiku. If you can handle that much silliness in your decepticons, then have at.

Personally, I'd like to see him, Skids and Mudflap, G1 Wheelie and the entire cast of Armada launched into the unknown regions of space, never to return.

But, if you can somehow tolerate that kind of humor in your TF show, I guess I'm the one missing out.

There's a scene where Brawn tells the Predacons to wait just a minute, then he drives up a 5 story building to jump off and shoot at them while they wait, only to miss and actually say "I missed!" pretty much killed any interest I could ever have in the show. If this sounds like fun to you, please, enjoy.

That's the thing. When RiD first debuted on the heels of the Beast Era, it was quite jarring, and as the TF toon at the time, a bit of a disappointment. But retroactively, it's so much better than the Unicron Trilogy, and if you look at it like I do, as a TF sitcom, it can be quite entertaining as a parody of itself. And.. the most entertaining character in the series was, without a doubt, Sky Byte.

Well as Japanese show Car Robots, it was aimed at 6 year olds...

I second (or third; or thirty-third) his nomination.
If a HOF figure (preferably another Sharkticon/2010 Sky-Byte repaint) comes out of it, I'm game (provided they take my color scheme -- which I need to scan and publish -- into consideration).

Wow, six pages of Sky Byte? Sounds about right!!!

At first, I did not like the stupid, silly Predacons, especially "the other three" but by the end of RiD, I loved Sky Byte! Still didn't like the other three through. Lame.

It was a silly show and Sky Byte was allowed to happen. It worked and it was done well.

Skybyte and Scourge are the only redeeming values of RID to me. I really hope TF Prime digs up Dinobot and SkyByte and drops them in the mix. Skybyte especially, cuz he could have been more awesome in a better show.

Whoa whoa buddy. Armada Starscream was awesome. Here's and idea TF Prime writers... Starscream gets Decepticons to defect to his squad, but the team consists of SkyByte, Slapper, Gas Skunk, Darkscream, Terrorsaur and Waspinator. As a Starscream fan who would like to see a more serious take on him, even I would find this hilarious.

With a dillweed like UM running around, Sky-Byte is a welcome break.

any show that 35 foot tall robots use 8 year olds as their "tactical" support, you can't take seriously anyway.

it's hokey at times, but to me a damn sight better than A/E/C.

Sky Byte is just likable. sue me.
