How easy is it to re-chrome Optimus's Smokestacks?

Hello everyone. I'm a long-time lurker, but a rare poster. I didn't see this posted elsewhere, and I have a quick question for you all. I made a pretty good buy at a flea market this afternoon. I came across a G2 Optimus Prime with very tight joints, little to no sticker wear, and a still-working sound box. He is only missing the rocket-launching gun, though all rockets were included. Not a bad buy for $27I would say.

My main question is this. The only cosmetic flaw with the figure is that his right smokestack has a fair amount of chrome wear, and the plastic underneath is showing-through. What is the easiest way that I go about (if it's even possible) re-chroming this part?
