Last night my family suffered a small ‘crisis’. During the time my mom was away picking up my sister around 12 ish, I heard running water in her bathroom. Me thinking ‘durn poltergeist’ I ventured to turn off the sink they left running. When I reached the master bath I saw that there was suddenly…WATER! EVERYWHERE!

Neigh an hour of panicked screaming, cussing, screwing up later it was time to salvage what we could and put my moms room back in order <~ This is actually a funny story, but I have pics instead.

A quarter of the carpet was beyond words so I cut it and tossed it out the window,

We couldn’t shut the water off so I attached a hose and just ductapped it on, the water was free flowing from the other side D:<

My moms feet, she’s trying to manage the horror where we tossed everything to prevent further damaged…her TV is mostly huge,
    [IMG]

Water comes within inches of her antique dresser!

My room was also victim, I stubbornly saved the nets >xD

Todays pics, there are some Animated Figs taking inventory on replacement costs. My mother is not amused by how amused I am with all of this >8D

Oh crap. :(  Luckily there doesn't appear to be much damage beyond the carpet.

    Wow, just wow... that sucks.

At least you managed to save some of the stuff, not to mention you being there to prevent any more damage.

Good god, did you leave her in the water as well? Her jeans have shrunk!

Not a bad looking leg, though.

This is the reason everyone should know where the MAIN shutoff valve for their water is located. Sucks though. I like the figs looking over the damage.

That blows, hope things get sorted out. Although I got a few laughs of the Animated figs surveying the damage.

Hellz yeah things could'a been worse, luckily it happened while we were around on a weekened. I knew where the main valve outside was but I had no stinken plyers for it :banghead:

Our carpet is near 40 yrs old so we need to have it replaced, this is good incentive for that. Good ol inconvenient incentive :)

Are you hittin on my moms leg? D8< I can see where this is going...

I thought this was going to be a ghsot story. Oh well. My cat knows how to turn the water on and off. I'm scared this could happen one day she decides to leave the water running. It is a very small sink with bad plumbing already.

This used to happen whenever it rained at my old apartment. My room would get flooded, and I'd have to move everything out to the living room.

That's what I consider real bad.

Once my grandma's home had some sort of plumbing repair (everyone on the street had it). I was a lil but I remember half the house was flooded and we lived like this for some weeks. I liked walking through the hall with the carpet soaked goin' 'squish-squash' between my toes :D

Flooded basements are no picnic either Dx<

When I saw that first picture (w/o reading yet) the first thing that popped in my head was that your dog took a huge dump in your house and got it everywhere. lol
