Whenever RID15 comes to an end, what you like the next show's art style to be like?
I want 2D, but I expect 3D because it's easier to keep consistent.
But even assuming that, more than the animation method, I want a different animation style than what we've gotten. I'd want a show where actual detail exists on the designs, and they're not just variations of the same design principles like Prime, and RID to a crazy extend, were.
I'd honestly be okay with a return to the UT level of design detail and aesthetics, but with more creative designs. Like Hero's art style before it became TFA. Cool robots with cool, mechy designs but personality as well. And for god sake, no more of the super simple, shapeless, featureless faces where the mouths are just lines and the eyes are the only detailed part. It works great for 2D, not 3D. And bring back noses, or some approximation in their place.
Don't really care... as long as they don't try to blend vastly different art styles together like Energon and Cybertron did. 2D and 3D just do not blend well and animators really need to just stop trying to make them blend. It looks terrible, don't do that ever again. Just pick one art style and stick with it.
Also would prefer they never do Animated art style ever again. I wouldn't mind if they brought back the same writers cause the series was good story wise but I don't like that art style.
One thing I would like to see again is more realistic looking humans like they were in G1. We've had humans with various cartoon proportions for a long time now but I haven't seen any realistic looking humans since the 80's... and I just mean Transformers, every cartoon just stopped making human characters look like real people and started giving them weird stylized designs. I'm kind of tired of it. I'd love to see some cartoons that look like real people again. Either that or set the next series entirely on Cybertron and don't even have human characters.
I really, really wish we could get a TF series with high quality 2D animation. Something more fluid than cheap CGI, easier to create and alter than expensive CGI and more highly detailed than simple and cartoony animation. I want a show with tons of unique, highly detailed TF designs getting into fast paced fights, done in fluid animation, that really creates damage that's shown on all the TF and their environments. Too bad we almost certainly won't get that from Boulder Studios.
2D, one of the things I hated in TFP was that they were always in a desert
I would prefer 2d like Voltron series
I'd love the next show to be heavily inspired by the Trigger style. Like Animated turned up just a notch, just add some spikes Animated Prime.
Only CGI (or cel-shading over CGI) if it's truly excellent quality CGI, like Prime. Otherwise I'd prefer straightout 2-D. Something very stylized, like TFA, would be fun.
Dude WTF is that? Looks like my dreams in real life 0o0
I don't care about style, I just want another series on the Beast Wars and Animated level. Character development, overarching stories, and a mixture of mature/humor.
This. 1000000 times this. I absolutely love Trigger's (And by extent, Gainax's) art style, so something like that would be purely beautiful to behold in an animated fashion.
Although since that probably won't happen, all I have to say is... let's stay far far away from the WFC/FOC aesthetic. It's the only style of Transformers I can't bear to look at.
Then you're in the wrong thread.
We're talking about visuals here. Not story.
Did you not see the first part? I'm good with any style, I just want the other part to be included with it.
That's for another thread, as I specifically didn't ask for that anywhere here.
Sorry, but I added my thought to the discussion and a bit extra. Usually that type of stuff happens in threads asking for one's thoughts.
Bring back the 2D animation, i'm of CG for now.
Full CGI animation is really expensive but it allows high detailed textures, brilliant lighting and realistic shader. But for a budget reason, I wouldn't want a costly visual that limits screen time or writing budget.
Cel shaded CGI would be preferable. It's cheap and practical. It's doesn't hurt my eyes. However, RID2015 has such bad design (modeling wise). Maybe TFP design with cel shade would be great IMO.
2D? Pffff, no, never, nu-uh, nein, I don't want to go back to that age of UT again. It's unacceptable. Transformers with high details would likely to kill the animator in process. In 2D type of animation, there's a chance of deformation, warping of a character model, or even some kind of misproportion. The complex design will be a mess as they would absolutely get rid of it in action scene, at a distance, or dynamic movement. Unless the art style was a Rescue Bots then the problem above will be cured a little bit.
You can't beg too much for visual, it would likely sacrifice screenwriting, character development, reasonable story and more.
But I believe that Boulder Media Studios has great potential. TAWOG was amazing. They would make a great TF show.
Such as the episode when Soundwave returns from shadow zone. He looks pretty great aside from low fps to emulate a 2d animation (which were badly executed). RID2015 looks pretty good with increased FPS.
Separate names with a comma.
