Get on youtube, find a video of the figure, watch it, and then do as the person does.

Quicker for me as the Hasbro instructions often sucks these days.

I've gotten too lazy. If packaged in Bot mode, many times I will give it a once over to make sure no parts are glued together or missing, and then put it on the shelf. Vehicle mode, I use the instructions.

Usually just rip it out of its packet and go at it till it looks right.

Sometimes doing it this way you can figure out better poses and alternate transformations

Same here. instruction (sheets) are for kiddies. The most orgasmic moment would be the moment figuring out how to transform it.

Guess I'm a kiddy then since I use the instructions :p

Only the first time - after that I know where most things go and figure out my own way of doing it. I prefer to go by the instructions, even if they are misleading, just because I don't want to do the wrong thing and damage something.

I used to look at instructions and videos, but now that transformations became so simple, it's not very hard to do it myself.

    I use the instructions given.

    BUT

If it's a very complex transformation (like RotF Leader Optimus), the pictures aren't clear, or when I reach a point in the transformation were something feels like it might possibly break (especially for a more expensive figure, again, like RotF Leader Optimus), then I check out Peaugh's youtube videos and see how he does it.

I use all the methods from the options available, besides letting someone else transform it, that's just pointless.

Usually just go for it. Most of the regular figures are fairly straight forward and intuitive.

It depends on the figure; sometimes I need to look at the instructions, while with others I can just look at them and say "Ah, I see how this works..." and go for it.

Yep. I've been doing this since Beast Wars was at retail.

I guess I'm a kiddie also. I use the intructions for the first time, esspecially 3rd party toys. Don't want to break them by stressing too hard in one spot. Videos help with certain things but I ussually use that as a supplamental to the instruction booklet.

Yep, same here. I'll do it the way the instructions say first, then make my own alterations, if need be.

The given instructions usually aren't that good, and why watch a video unless I'm stuck?

To me a Transformer is three toys: A vehicle, a robot, and a puzzle.

I like figuring it out myself unless it's a figure like ROTF Leader Prime or something of that nature.

I don't see why anyone is complaining about the instructions, they're pretty good.
