^This. Also, I strongly recommend only going for girls who are, in some way, geeks themselves. That's what I plan to do, partly because I'm only attracted to geeky girls in the first place, and partly because they're far more likely to share your interests or at least put up with them.

 

I disagree with this statement. I have had various girls think that my collecting hobby is cute and adorable. Now maybe this is just better to them than a pure video game nerd, or maybe they figure it's better than drinking/drugging/whoring. I don't know, but I have never had a girl say anything negative or judgemental about my collecting habits. Hell, some have asked for pictures in a non-sarcastic way.

 

It seems you got some good advice of how to talk to women. Sorry I don't have jack squat of advice to give you.

The moment you become her best friend that she can tell anything to, you're fucked. It's a fine line with friendzone and boyfriend. Very fine line. But it is generally a path that cannot be righted.

BTK is right on with the collecting, though. It might not work for all, but it has a certain allure to the right girl. And now, not all of these girls will be nerds. Some are actually popular and attractive.

Yeah, this. Unfortunately, in my area, the number of geeky girls who are relatively normal (Hygiene and behavior being the two major factors in the word.) is almost nil. As in, maybe 1% of the population.

And because of it, I have very few conversation topics. Not to mention conversation skills, unless I know the topic well.

 

I tried the advice from an Elle magazine once when I was single. "Women love oral sex in the mourning." I had trouble getting mine out of her mouth early that day.

Although I'm ashamed to admit this, I finally got better at talking to girls just a few months ago when I was put in partial hospitalization for my anxiety and depression. I was the only male in the group and after a few days, I was striking up conversations as if they were other guys. Basically, I think it just requires more exposure to the opposite sex. It also helps that my human resources case manager is a woman and although she's cute, I've gotten better at talking to her and other ladies.

 

You gotta ignore everything in the first 18 hours or so. Besides the profanity, it's a lot of empty words. "Do you know who I am?", "Why are you doing this?", "If you let me go, I won't tell anyone, I promise!", and my personal favorite, "When I get outta here..."

 

Hmmm, mine got all fustigated when I tried to give her some brain at her grandfather's funeral.

They are humans you know, just like you. Just talk to them like you would any other human.
