Customs: How do you remove paint off a figure without removing the original paint?

    I recently got a custom super legends white ranger and it was a custom a some point but the last owner already took off some of the paint, i'll have pics up later but I want to remove what's left of the custom paint without damaging the original paint

    to be more specific of where the excess paint is on the figure, it's mainly on the gold part of the helmet

    While I'd have to see specifically at what you're working with to be more helpful, generally speaking you can use 71% rubbing alcohol and Q-tips to remove a top layer of paint that is painted on top of another. It's a delicate process and requires patience, but it can certainly be done:
