I am curious how others pay for your Transformer collections?

For instance, I only spend the extra money I make apart from our main income. My wife likes that a lot! I give a boy in our church guitar lessons, and so I use that money to buy Transformers. I usually start saving before a new wave comes. Lately, I have made small purchases here and there.

With all the new stuff to come, looks like I need to start saving again.

Curious how others afford these toys?

I am single, that's why I have disposable income for my toys, that may change when I get married, I would have different priorities then... :)

Before I got married what was mine was mine and I bought Transformers with it. After I got married what is mine is mine still but I am behooved to put most of that into the house fund. As long as I am contributing to the house fund I don't get too much crap, but there are rare times where I see something on eBay or BBTS or retail that I have to have and it is sometime dicey.

half my money goes to TF's, some to DC/ MOTUC, some to movies and video games. I just wait until I have enough and I hold off on the larger figures (ultra thru Supreme) until the go on clearance

    i work...

but yeah, before i got married i spent alot on toys... probably too much, but now i'm way more responsible... all the bills get paid, and i see what i have left and manage it well... i try to spend only 50 bucks a month on toys, so i look for sales and whatnot... but my wife just got a new promotion at work, so that means she'll be making more and helping with the bills more, which means i'll have more money for toys, so i think we'll see an influx of monies for toys!

My collection's built on a pretty strict $30 a week limit, which normally isn't eating into any vital money, though lately that's not been possible...

I just keep a side pool of gift money and any extra I have after bills and essentials like food have been purchased. Anything like TFs or other random purchases (movies, etc.) are paid for out of that side pool. In months past that pool grew a bit each month, but with hours at work being severely cut that's not the case at the moment.

I work(ed unemployed now) a decent job that paid me enough to knock out my rent, girlfriend costs, and bills plus some 2-300 bucks of just fun money. The fun money is what I used for Transformers, Vacations, etc

I quit smoking. $20 a week for tfs vs. $45 a week for cigs. Tax time helps too.

I work and I pay my TF's with debit. I'm not married and have no family to support. But I had to cutback my spending a little.

Since Christmas, I only bought a couple of TF's.

QFT. While wasn't a smoker but a dipper, not spending money on cigs/dip also helps alot too. I could even spend more if I limited my beer budget, but come on that is a vice that I really like and don't want to give up.

I have worked hard and now I make a good living. :)

I also resist a lot of stuff I know I don't want. I briefly caved for the ROTF line in the beginning, but once I realized that I really didn't want most of it, it's been easy to just use money to buy things I actually want online.
