I'm still not warming up to his new design. Megatron is insanely ILL!!!!!
Ok I saw the face plate. Its all good now.
Do not like his mouth.
Hate the mouth still. Hate the movie aesthetics too.
But I LOVE his paint scheme. THIS is how he should have been painted in the movie.
love the semi.. but the mouth not
Hate the mouth but I can live with it. I love the new series. I was pleasantly surprised. Watched it this afternoon with my kids and was disappointed when it was over. I love hearing Peter and Frank together again. I can't wait to watch it on Monday.
I'm not sure I dig the whole "generic Justice League male hero body" aesthetic. Would have liked him to have a bit more HIPPAGE. Also, I really wish his forearms were a bit boxier.
Those niggling, little details aside, I really don't mind the design. Don't have any attachment to the movie design, which is pretty much just what this is, but I'm definitely not going to rage about it being too movie-ish. After all, it's more marketable this way, since the kids will recognize the aesthetic. I mean, heck, the first voyager Prime released in the movie line could easily be mistaken for the TF Prime version.
I don't like the mouth, but at this point, he's had a mouth in all the series since the movie. Other than that, I thought it was cool
So far the only thing about him I don't like is his noseless face and weird mouth. Otherwise I have no complaints.
I think I'll get over the mouth thing. But I hope he goes through some character development as well. Just because he comes off as so one dimensional.
I'll be different and say that I love the mouth and the face, because I do. Right now he's a bit too militaristic in character. He doesn't ever "let down." Basically he's to serious compared to the rest of the cast.
It's only the first episode but yeah... Joe's characters better established themselves in their episodes.
So far I'm plesantly surprised. I was afraid by his character bio they would've made him the "cold and battle-hardened" warrior but they've gone a better job of nailing the "wise and compassionate robot" we grew up on. It's nice to see that return to television however I agree he'll need more depth in the long run. So far Jack and Arcee have him beat as the show's most complicated characters.
Of course these are only the first two episodes.
No issues with this Optimus. He seems very much like the one I knew and loved way back when. Of course, that may be due to Peter Cullen, but that's not a bad thing.
I dare say cullen is coming off a lot stiffer in this portrayal, I'm listening to a few of his old voice clips and he's showing off a lot more emotion.
Not saying this prime is bad, just wish he'd loosen up a bit both in character and voice.
Pretty cool. Not too much to say, he's pretty much movie Optimus without the flames (In both character and design). I don't dislike him at all though. It's pretty cool hearing a Cullen Prime on a modern Transformers show. I even like how the mouth looks now.
This X 2
I echo the complaints about the weird mouth and such, but it's a niggling complaint at best. This Prime feels the most like the Prime I've known and loved since I was a youngster. It's amazing how much of Prime I associate with Cullen's voice. I'm so happy he's back in this role.
the mouth dealio probably could be easily solved with a nose. the face just looks empty and that liquid metal mouth, as its been called, just makes his face look like a lake...i think just a few added lines of detail, and a nose coulda fixed all that...
the character himself seems a little stale. the movieverse personality that's carried over in wfc and prime lacks something that the g1 one had. i don't knnow what...
He looks pretty good with his faceplate over his face. Without it he looks odd. I really like everything else about him though.
The Mouth......eh......It will take a while to get used to.
Love that Peter Cullen is back in a full fledged TF series though.
