Take for example, one small Transformer weapon worth $5.00
What's the best/cost effective way to ship something like this within' the states, and what's the avg. cost?

Using a USPS Priority small flat rate box would be $5.00! For one tiny little thing that costs $5.00, adding a $5.00 shipping charge seems a bit overboard

How do you ship this tiny item? Bubble mailer? Reg. letter envelope? (within' the US)

First class is just as good as priority. Just put it in a small padded envelope. Don't use a letter envelope or the piece will get torn out by the machines they go through. That happened to me once.

I'm so used to getting all my Priority boxes and materials (bubble wrap and peanuts) free. I have to pay for these bubble mailers, right?

One of those bubble envelope things is the best way, imho, and usually doesn't cost more than a couple bucks to do. NEVER send a part in just an envelope, EVER.

I've shipped minibots with a mailer before (requested) but a small box can still get you in for first class rates.

just get a small box and 1st class the thing...it will get to where it is going in 3 to 6 days at the most.

priority mail is about the most expensive and overrated shipping method.

first class and parcel post or UPS ground are the most cost effective and best methods that i have seen.
(But then i do not mind waiting for a box...i just think it is stupid that there are folks on ebay that will charge you $15 to ship an item in a priority box for something that maybe cost you $15 to $20(say a TF voyager) and then all you are going to do is open the transformer and throw away the packaging anyway...waste of money in opinion...i would rather pay for UPS ground or parcel post and wait a while and save that $$$ for other things,)

I give all options and prices to the buyer and let them make the choice.

Picked up 10 bubble mailers for about $5.00 after tax at Walmart. It was either $4./something for 5, or 10 for around $1. more.

Damn, I thought I had all Klingons on ignore........... j/k

Thats a reasonable cost. I just include the cost of the envelope in the shipping.
