You realized you just spent more money in gas driving around looking for Transformers figures than it would have cost to buy it online with shipping.

I feel like this :banghead:  than like this :mad  plus this :cry .

For me,the hunt is half the fun,so I don't worry too much about what I spent on gas.I usually try to combine other errands that I need to run so that my trip isn't a total washout. It really sucks when you don't find anything good, but you never know when you might hit the jackpot at the next store.

I don't shop like that, so I dunno.

I just pop in at the Wal-Mart and TRU on the way to my weekend job. If there's nothing interesting, then that's that.

I feel worse when I buy something online and then see it in the store the next day.

I never waste gas on the hunt. I always make sure to stop at stores on the way to and from other destinations I'm already going to. So money spent on gas for toys = 0 in my book.

I only hunt once a month so gas isn't TOO bad. I've been buying more and more online however just so I can avoid hunting all the time.

I feel like one of the only people that enjoys the "hunt" - it's certainly frustrating at times, but it makes getting a hard-to-find figure that much more enjoyable to me.

True, but after 20 years of hunting for stuff I've wanted it just stopped being fun a couple of years ago.

I used to hunt a LOT.

Nowadays I'm willing to pay more and just buy it online.

I still hit up my local stores but they're all close to my house. There's absolutely no way I'll drive long distances anymore.

My time is worth far more than my money.

I only buy stuff online that is shortpacked. Everything else, I know there's a good chance I'll see it in stores.

ILD, your avatar is hilarious. It's like Optimus is paying Rodimus back for the '86 movie.

I loved the hunt last year. Now that gas is higher than ever I pick up a lot more online. I make less trips out now because of it. I also find myself calling ahead more often to see if they have a certain figure.

I usually just stop at places on my way to class/work so I don't use much more gas than I normally would.

Yeah, that's happened to me a couple of times. But I try not to let it bother me because sometimes it's just better to know you have something coming. A bird in the hand, so to speak.

When I first got to San Antonio, I was all about hunting, yo. Now with gas hovering close to $4 and my time being more valuable to me (too many times I left the store disappointed and empty-handed), I preorder/order stuff online more often. I just preordered a whole case of Wave 3 PRiD on BBTS just so I'd be guaranteed figures (Knockout, Arcee, Ratchet, and Vehicon) and not have to deal with the hassle of hunting.
