    saw someone do this with the Hercules transparent guns, looks mighty spiffy.

    transparent plastic is my kryptonite and it's not like it's overpowering the whole model, so prime cyberverse gets two thumbs up

    They are aimed at young collectors. Kids may like translucent. When I was younger I didn't really care about the energon combiners hands and feet.

    I hate them, even back in energon where it was part of the story. Yuck. Dead easy to spray them black or silver though.

    They probably plug into the Space ship shown (similar to how there is wire to plug into the commander sized figure torsos). So you can have every weapon light up when attached.

    Cyberverse Megs looks really cool, and was the only Cyberverse I planned to buy out of those...but his translucent chest completely ruins it for me.

    I hated them in Energon and I still hate them now.

    Blades I can understand, but the guns look ridiculous. Why would you ever have a gun that fires energy projectiles whilst being made of energy?

    Give me solid colour rifles anyday.

    That said, if they were painted whilst being cast in translucent plastic then you could get a cool light piping effect. Sadly thats not what they went for.


    Megatron is the best of the bunch for actually using translucent plastic properly. When he's properly transformed and in the light it should make the purple chest look like his dark energon glow. I know a lot of people missed it including myself, but the ones on display are mistransformed. The pieces dangling in front of his thighs actually clip together to form his chest armour and cover up the translucent purple. You can see it on the packaged sample.

    On topic: Eh... I'm not sure I like that the figures themselves are translucent. That Megatron looks horrible without the detail painted in.

    I'm okay with them, as long as they're supposed to be energon weapons. Melee only, for sure.

    I don't mind them. In some cases they work, and in others they don't.

    I'm loving the Dark Energon Megatron, though (seriously, they're knocking it out of the park with Megatron toys in this line! Can't wait to see a Voyager one).

    Clear weapons and parts is one of the maion reasons I stayed away from the A/E/C cycle. I've never been a fan of the over-use of transparent plastics, and it needs to be done right for me to even like it at all. Light-piping, sword edges and 'glowing' parts are okay, but completely clear is a turn off.
    That being said, I'll get every and all Cyberverse Prime figure, but I forsee some serious painting ahead of me.
