I was a big fan of the first, second, and fourth TMNT films but I really felt as if it was getting stale after a while. How do you feel about the upcoming reboot from Platinum Dunes and who would you want to direct/star?

sigh you do Bay is just producing we probably won't get much say in anything
It will be a cgi/live action mix and will be continuing on with the story of the turtles versus shredder

Directing, producing, it doesn't matter; anything Bay touches, he deforms it, IMHO.

Just seeing Michael Bay's name attached makes me nervous, but since we haven't seen a damned thing, it's too early to tell how good or bad this movie might/could/will be. The TF films were pretty bad when it came right down to it, but that was a team effort from the actors, writers, producers and director. I still hold Turtles 1 as the best of the live action (and it still remains one of my favorite comic book movie adaptations), the closest to the original source material with a bit of cartoon thrown in to keep it light and all around a pretty good movie. I hope the reboot is similar. The fan film "Fight The Foot" is a good example of what I'd like to see, as long as it doesn't go too far down the dark and gritty road.

I know. Those TF films did so poorly at the box office.

    You people are hilarious.

A Michael Bay TMNT movie, eh?

As long as there's explosions, slow motion, a Victoria's Secret model playing April O' Neil (with scantly clad clothing on), tons of action, jokes about farts/masturbation/pizza, all within the span of 2 1/2 hours, I'd be first in line.

No really, I'd be down. But the model and fart/masturbation jokes are strictly optional.

The Ninja Turtles doesn't really seem like a 'Bay' property. There's very little in the way for him to blow up, the combat is all hand to hand or bladed weapons: so no tanks, jets, warships etc for him to shoot and no soldiers to shoot guns with.

I mean the man can throw his money where he pleases, but since he's not directing, who is?

I thought I read somewhere that they had gotten the writers from MI:4 to do a rewrite or editing of an initial script done by a couple writers from Iron Man.

    Sadly that's correct.

Hopefully it's atleast on par with the first Transformers film for it to be fine.

i've seen movies where bay directs, and movies where bay produces.

and in my opinion the movies that he produces are WAY better then the ones he directs.

so with that said as long as he is just producing it, it should be alright.

I like Michael Bay-directed movies, but Platinum Dunes just makes pure crap. There horror remakes are mostly terrible except maybe Nightmare on Elm Street which I thought was ok. They also made I Am Number Four, which I also thought was just ok. Basically the best their movies get is ok.

ITT: People who arenĀ“t familiar with the original Mirage comics interpretations where the turtles killed (in fact one them killed Shredder at one point), drank and cussed like sailors.

Bay is perfect for that route.

I think that tmnt and michael bay is a great idea, his teenage humour with the teenage mutant ninja turtles is perfect
