from what I can tell most eyes are an implied iris/pupil area, surrounded by radiating slats covered in a shutter mechanism of some sort that act as eyelids.... So I'd start by very faintly making a circle for the center of the eye (or eyes, as some characters have multiple eyes), then drawing whatever shutter design fits the character & finally, laying in the radiating lines from the center of the eye to the edge of the "eyeball" itself. The eyes are also normally in a fairly detailed ocular cavity, to match human/animal/insect eyes fairly closely, so either fill that in with extreme shadow (my advice) or take your time on that area - just make sure it doesn't get darker than your eyeball, unless you want to color the eye later (but if you do, make sure that the center of the eye is almost white, with the color gradually getting more concentrated as you get further away from the center...)
Interesting description of the Movie-style eyeballs there, closetrat. WOuld you think the eyes that I've done with my movie designs would fit with your descriptions? **Please review Rule #7 and moderator message below regarding linking to other sites. Thanks ~Radicons Staff**
How about posting a thread with your artwork in Radicons Fan Art instead? (please review Rule #7 and the sticky thread in Radicons Fan Art)
Oops, my bad. Which Rule #7 are we talking about here? I can't find one, though I may be looking in the wrong place for all I know. Sorry again (I hate being on people's bad sides)!
Ah, don't worry about being on anyone's "bad side". The board Rule #7 can be found in the Rules section. However, there is a thread in Fan Art that is stickied discussing this as well. Essentially, I'd just like to see you post your work in Radicons, as linking off site is not permissible for this sort of thing.
Ah, I see. Off-site linking is a no-no. Gotcha. I won't feck that one up again. And as for not entering my work into the competition, JakmanFirby, it was a decision based on some kind of need for not badly losing things, the fact that if I won I'd have an extra ROTF Megatron, and I just couldn't be arsed.
Well, citations are permitted, but if it's something that can/should be posted here to begin with, it's counterproductive. Illustrations, customs, and tutorials, for example, can be posted in Radicons instead of linking to another site.
