Is it by transformer, era, faction, brand or other?
I collect by transformer and it is Starscream. But I'm also keeping with faction (Decepticon). So the next TF I will collect will be, either Megatron or Soundwave.

That is when I start up again. Had a dry spell, so to speak, the past few months.

I don't collect, I just buy. I only get ones I particularly want, at times when I have the money and don't want other things more- ie, not as often as I'd like to get TFs.

I used to be a completist, but have toned down since the garish repaints of Armada and Universe. Since then, I get every new mold that gets released, then repaints IF they are actually worth getting.

eHobby repaints, for example, are my new interest. Expensive, might I add.

I'm not very limited. I'm a completist for G1. I have a thing for exclusives, if they're cool (ehobby and botcon for example). For Cybertron I'm sticking mostly to show figures, same with Beast Wars.
As for particular characters, I think my Avatar and title say it all.
Also got a thing for black/dark repaints.

However I look at it, I never have trouble spending money on something.

i try to be a completist with g1.

with the modern stuff i pick my poison depending on what i think is cool. its hard recently with the deluge of good stuff coming out.

    i miss the armada days.

I could never be a completist. I pick up figs that I think are good if I have the spare cash. However my collections main focus is Starscream (and I have so much more to get).

I used to try to concentrate on BW Neo onwards, but now I have extended my limit to BW in general. I just buy whatever I like and can afford. I guess I am not really a collector.

I guess I would be a "distinct variation completist". I'm slowly working my way towards having one of each distinct variation of a mold released at retail. For instance, I will buy the three differently colored Rumbles and want to get a Coby Rumble. But I will not buy both the US release video version of BW Raxorclaw and the release from BW Neo, since their paint schemes are identical, or nearly so. Also, where I have CR Fire Convoy, I don't need to have RiD Prime, for example.

    Ebay:
100% completionist for both domestic and foreign lines (both versions of every fig), and all subsidiary items (status/busts, PVCs, exclusives, etc...), plus Braves & Webdiver. There's something satisfying about knowing you're not letting anything slide by. But with family now in the picture, I may need to revisit this, and I'm thinking the completion of the Classics line might be a good time to wrap up collecting TFs.

Besides, once you have every single released version of every single Playskool Go-Bot ever made, what's left? :lol

Trying to escape the completionist phase at the moment but my will power sucks.

Usually just buy what looks cool or imagine it displaying next to something, im pretty scatterbrained in that area

Im a total completist....but im in no hurry to get there. I pick up new stuff as it comes out, and when there is a lull and cash builds up in the bank, i can work backwards to fill in the collection.

Flavor of the month is G1 though, just this past week ive picked up G1 Sunstreaker, Wheeljack, Mirage, Runabout/Runamuck, and the 3 Omnibots. (and didnt spend as much of a fortune as i thought i would for them).

    Last months obsession was Cyberjets...

I collect Beast Wars, and only show characters.

I buy anything that I feel like. Although at this point, you could also say that I 'collect' original trilogy SWTFs, just 'cause I have all of them.

Real world expenses limit my options, so I prefer to be a completist on Alternators (all I need is Swerve). Anything else is nice.

Typically, I only buy TFs I really, really want AND can find on sale.

    I'm a low-level collector at best.

I have less than 10 TFs.
