Decepticons are usually stronger than Autobots. As someone pointed out already, the ratio is generally 2:1.

3rd Party offerings in 2011 will balance this out.

not sure if this is true in my line up, if we are strictly talking about fire power, because I really loaded out my autobots.

I keep my fingers crossed that one day Hasbro will show the Decepticon fans a bit of love. The Joe team does pretty good at showing love for the Cobra fans so maybe one day that idea will filter over to the team working on Transformers.

Might actually be able to afford some of the 3rd party stuff this year which should cover some Decepticons that Hasbro seems unwilling to do in the near future.

Decepticons seem to work as the hybrid of styles better than the Autobots do so it's not as hard to add Bludgeon to the mix as it would be some of the Autobot hybrids.

Or if all that fails I just think back to Transformers Animated when it took a whole team of Autobots to fight one Decepticon.

the whole outnumbering really depends on what you consider classics, everyone has a different collection

This is true! Mine don't seem too out numbered but I have ML soundwave as my soundwave and two sets of seekers.

Get the Piranacon and Predaking reissues, and seperate them into their individual members. The scales should balance right out.

The main part of my collection is a mixture of Classics and g1 but even with that the Autobots outnumber the decepticons almost 2 to 1. In my TF universe the decepticons are harder to beat and it usually takes 2 or 3 autobots using teamwork to beat one decepticon. Plus the cons have a lock on air power.

I use a few Decepticons from other lines to balance it out. Energon Slugslinger, Scorponok, Shockblast, Tidal Wave, ML Soundblaster and Cybertron Mudflap are all part of my Classics Decepticons display.

Many of the most popular G1 guys are the 1984 ones.

Take a look at the releases that year. Remember that Reflector is actually a 1986 release.

That's one reason. And every time that Hasbro releases a figure who wasn't "on the Ark" before one that was, someone's offended.

My Decepticons have Bruticus though. They'd crush my Autobots, even though I might have a few more Autobots. (Not to mention Galvatron and Thunderwing. Think about their fictional portrayals.)

I must admit that numbers encouraged me to get Skullgrin and Astrotrain recently.

    Me too. :D

I have a few Energon/SL Decepticons (Scorponok, Shockblast, Slugslinger) incorporated in there as well. Aesthetically, they blend in nicely and make great stand-ins until IF they actually make classics versions of those characters.

However....I also have E-Omega Supreme on there as well. So the odds might be a bit more challenging.

In Transport to Oblivion, Starscream took out Prowl, Ratchet, Cliffjumper, and Gears. I have always rejected any notion of balanced numbers when the Decepticons are naturally more powerful.

Careful purchases have left me with a very balanced set of 'Bots and 'Cons. I think I'm only down one 'Con voyager at this point. Maybe two...

My Decepticons were padded out with Nemesis Prime, Dark Skyfire, Dropshot, Lugnut, Fracture, Drag Strip, Overkill, and a second set of six Seekers. Scourge's Sweeps will be balanced by Wreck-Gar's Junkions.

I also skipped all of the Ultra-class figures, though I did just get Walmart Powerglide. He's practically the same size as Lugnut in plane mode, so I'll probably end up balancing him with the Lugnut redeco (assuming he is a Decepticon).

I don't think I skipped any of the Classics series Autobot deluxes (except Cheetor and Dinobot) but I did skip Octane and Acid Storm. And still, the deluxes are all balanced. Future Generations redecos might change that, though.

I actually have more Decepticons than Autobots. The trick is to bring in figures from other eras :thumb
