I am just wondering how I can tell if a G1 toy is actually a knockoff. I recently bought a g1 Devastator gift set in the original box but the guy had 4 listed and now has like 2 more listed. I want to be sure that I got the original and not some crappy knock off. Thanks and LMK.

Pretty sure this is the wrong place for this. I believe there's a sticky in the Toy Discussion Forum for this. Also, we won't know if you don't post pics.

Can you post a picture of your Devastator's box? There are several errors/differences compared with the original.

    This.

    The most common error are:

No Grey border between the character art and the window
No Grey border between Devastators character art (around the gun and foot) and where it borders a window.

Also there's a rub symbol on Hook's front cab , visable in package.

Chances of the same guy having six in the same "brand new" condition available is slim. Sounds like the recent KO.

I went to your auction page, and yeah, it's a KO. It has no grey border between the gun and the window.

Checked it out and very much agreed, it's a fake. Snake Eater, regardless of feedback you leave (negative would be appropriate :)  ), make sure to clearly state the seller is selling KOs as originals to warn other bidders.

Also, here's the d-bag seller: eBay Seller: jeff41882010: Toys Hobbies, Sporting Goods items on eBay.com

If Ghost Prime sold you it, it's either a KO or an 'unofficial rerelease'. ;)

What's the quality difference between this KO and the original?

    Do it anyway! :)

IIRC, they'll go for $50-$60 on eBay.

I also just bought a g1 shockwave MIB from him. That one looks real. I paid $160 for it even though the price says 162.50 he gave me a second chance offer. I bet he bid it up on a different account. I can't believe I got scammed on that devastator. I knew something was fishy but I asked and of course I am an honest guy so I figured the guy was being honest to. Oh well I guess if I can get my money back I'll be happy.

There is no remake of Shockwave out there if I'm not mistaken... Just the vintage grey Radio Shack one. So you're probably safe with that one

I hope alot of people see this thread. there are alot a ko's out there being sold as g1 originals and tons of people are getting ripped off. for any new collector out there, make sure you reed threads about ko's and how to spot them.
this particular purchase could have been easily avoided if the poster would have been educated on how to easily spot a ko devestator
try to get your money back guy, this guy straight up lied to you

Ohhh I plan on it. As soon as I receive the toy I'm gonna message him and tell him I want my money back as it's a knock off. I guess we will see. I'm not to happy but it could be worse. i could be out say $600 for a MISB one or something. I guess we will see. Oh and the other guy on these boards that ripped me off was Bill Higa. We made a huge deal and the toys he sent me were jacked up and painted on etc or he just didn't send them. He shorted me about $50 worth of stuff. I wasn't to happy then he stopped returning my emails.
