im just barely over 200 and im trying to streamline that i personally thing i could ditch more than half of the DOTM stuff i bought and never look back but i dont want to be any where near 1000 i dont have the space nor am i interested in anyting other than classics and movie stuff while i respect the g1 stuff and enjoyed it growing up, i personally feel no need to go back and aquire all the things i missed out on growing up, classics on the other hand way different story
I didn't notice at 1,000, and only noticed at 2,000 because I wanted to make a big deal out of it. Then I realized it really wasn't worth making a big deal out of it, so I didn't.
I guess I understand line completionists, but at some point I'd have to ask myself if there's really 1000+ TF's that are worth owning... Last quick check I did I have about 300+ and that seems overwhelming to me at times. Not sure what I'd do with 1000+ TF's besides want to sell a majority of them.
i like to have 1 of each character from each series to repreasent that character thats how you get so many so quickly and it helps that ive been collecting for years now
I recently counted my collection and I was shocked when I counted over 600 figures. I didn't realize I had that many. My want list is still enormous. Someday I told myself I want to complete the G1 line, which is a ridiculous task in itself on top of all the modern stuff that keeps getting released.
well the only collection i dont collect is g1 i have classics and i use g1 toys for the ones you just know have the lowest chance of geting toys e.g. insectecons trypetecon everything else ive collected except beast mechines its a shame about there toys but i only put in what i like
I always thought I must be around 1,000,and then I sold a bunch of spares, originals that I had reissues of, movie toys and pretty much a full range of Superlink, Armada repaints and shitty movie toys, so I figured I'd dropped a bit. Hovering around 1,300 now. I toyed with counting exactly how many I have, and capping it at 1,000, so if I buy something new something has to go, to keep it at an even 1k forever. But man, arbitrary collection count or what? I'll keep what I like and sell when I feel like it, regardless of amount.
I'm just over 1700 right now...passing a big milestone is a mixed bag. I love having a big collection but of course I feel like I'm overdoing it at the same time. I just love Transformers and the hobby of collecting so that's why I keep doing it.
I can't remember if I even noted somewhere when I passed 1000, mostly because I'm not sure when that even happened. I passed 1500 recently. I don't mind having a large collection (obvious statement is obvious, lol), the only thing I find irritating is the prospect of occasionally dusting/cleaning them from time to time.
Oh god that's something I need to do more often! Here in a couple months I'll have finished turing my garage into a man cave so when I move my TFs out there it's something I'll definitely have to make sure I remember to do.
How did I feel? Overwhelmed to be honest, I had so many totes holding the damn things I thought the floor was gonna cave in.
I probably have over 200, but my want list always seems to be in single digits, thankfully! Right now, out of things in retail, I really only have 1 desire: MP-10.
