Hello everyone, I'm a fan of LOTR and Transformers as well, and I'm really impressed how Tolkien really created a whole universe for LOTR, whole family trees and detailed imaginary languages for the differences race, etc.

The Transformers mythology isn't anywhere as deep but I wonder if Bay would do anything about that, so I'm curious how they made the Cybertronian speech in the movie, and whether the Cybertronian characters we see are standardized and not random lines even if they are supposedly the same word.

I think they recorded the lines in English then used some audio editting program to distort it to sound alien, since I doubt they'd spend time making up some form of Cybertronian speech, but it'd be awesome if they did decide to improve the whole mythology.

I'm pretty sure it's just heavily distorted English. Though if they actually did come up with a Cybertronian "language", you can bet your sweet ass I'd be buying the "Dummy's Guide to Cybertronian" right now.

I'm pretty sure the Cybertronian speech is purely of the "let's make a cool sound" type and little else

One of the "voice actors" involved in creating some of the Cybertronian stuff said it was basically multiple takes of them babbling whatever, sometimes english, sometimes just cool sounds, blended together, with multiple layers of effects, and extra stuff poured over the top. Kind of like a great big awesome Sundae of sound.

If you watch the special features it showns that for Megatron and a select other few they made up a fake alien language, then modified it to sound like a robot language. For the scene where the Decepticons gather, they just used modified english. (really easy to tell)

Having watched all the special features, I'm curious where this was, as I don't remember any of this being mentioned at all. Unless it was a part of Michael Bay's masturbatory commentary. I couldn't make it through ten minutes of that. And I normally like commentaries.

im not sure what to think about the cybertroninan language, because every time it's spoken, it sounds different. when Frenzy is talking, it sounds like wierd jibberish...the Decepticon roll-call sounded really cool, like machines...and then Megatron sounded different too. WTF. consistency anyone?

Cybertronian dialect? After all the original Frenzy/Rumble spoke in punk-speak.

Perhaps the Cybertronian speech in the TRANSFORMERS (2007) Movie doesn't mean any thing, but the language inscriptions in the Movie might have some meaning.
I wrote down a few Cybertronian characters from the Head of Optimus Prime in the Movie from the front DVD picture and also got some from the Optimus Prime Voice Changer Helmet. And I didn't find any of the same characters so far. But that might mean one some are have meaning and others don't.
And also remember that I'm pretty sure that the Autobots and Decepticons have their own language

Well perhaps they both a common Cybertronian language, but according to this http://www.seibertron.com/news/view.php?id=10236
there is a "Decepticon language" and so wouldn't that mean there is an "Autobot Language."

No, Because Autobots and the Decepticons can share a language, but the Decepticons may of developed a separate dialect, which makes Decepticons effectively bilingual.
