Hello,I have a question, how did Autobot like Smokescreen,Red Alert ,Tracks etc in season 2 arrive on Earth,do they come from Decepticon Spacebridge or Omega Supreme and Cosmos bring them here.it seem they appear random in the serial like Blaster in Dinobot Island etc, unlike the Japanese Headmaster they don't intro themselves.

    Thanks.

They just appeared ok, they just appeared. They just appeared because Hasbro had new toys to sell.

Did Omega Supreme not go for a dump? That's how I always figured they appeared!

They hitchhiked, that's why it took them until season 2 to get there.

It really didn't matter by that point, which is really why it wasn't covered in any episode.

In the comics they had either used the space bridge (The Cybertron Seven) or had been transported on the ark as memories recorded onto crystals, or built on earth, depending on who it was.

Spacebridge or Omega Supreme. Or maybe they were around all the time, but were not part of any story, so that's why they are usually not really introduced and everyone knows each other already.

I remember as a kid always waiting for a missed episode of a 1985 robot origin story that I didn't see.
    Never appeared on the re-runs.

And people say TF was badly produced...

I like to think that they were always on the Ark but it took until Season 2 for the S1 autobots to find & repair them. Maybe they were in the front section of the Ark and were buried deeper into the mountain. S1 characters were in the middle rear sections that were more accessible.

Of course, I know there's no REAL reason for it, but this is my preferred explanation. It's the simplest answer.

Yeah, I've always figured that any combination of Omega Supreme, Skyfire, or Cosmos brought them to Earth. Any one of them could've made the trip to and from Cybertron.

You'd think in forty nine episodes, they could've featured an episode showing them making the trip. It could've made for a cool episode. The Decepticons could've found out that the Autobots were sending troops from Cybertron, so Megatron orders Shockwave to have Astrotrain bring the season two Decepticons to Earth to try to destroy them before they reach Earth. I think it could've been a cool episode.

Ugh, I don't like that though. I greatly prefer to think that they were on Cybertron.

I don't like that because it always seemed like Cybertron was sort of "lost" to the Decepticons. You never get the impression that there even ARE any Autobots left on Cybertron, besides those Fembots that everybody thought were extinct or whatever.

But then, the cartoon was pretty bad at creating a sense of Cybertron being anything but a deserted factory landscape populated solely by Shockwave and a bunch of drones. Poor guy. :)

Why is it so necessary to explain where everyone comes from? I'll never understand the obsession with boring origin stories.

What's wrong with asking this question? Not everybody has an encyclopedaic knowledge of the TFs. and if you have nothing to contribute to the conversation, why post at all? Just to have yourself be heard/read?

Yes, a lot of questions have been brought up lately that people groan about, only because they've been on this board so long that it's been brought up a million times. But not to the new guys. Let them ask their questions. You were a new guy too at one point.

It would have been VERY interesting to see an origin story on the new cast. They certainly took the time to explain -

The constructicons (even if it contradicts itself several times over)
    stunticons
    combaticons
    aerialbots
    dinobots
    technobots
    headmasters
    targetmasters
    galvatron, cyclonus, scourge, unicron

SEe where i'm getting at? ALL of these characters had origin stories done. But not the season 2 guys, AND not the protectobots (who also just showed up out of nowhere).

i would originally say that at the time, Hasbro wasn't too concerned with origin stories for a kid's show with no history (at the time)... but apparently they were.
