Hope that isn't a stupid question, as I'm not that familiar with the line. But how come there are no Leader class universe line toys?

It's a filler line, they do incorperate some new mold but the priority of the line is repaints.

Not a stupid question, although maybe it's uninformed. Universe is not the mainline and never was the mainline during its brief (July 2008 - Now) existence. It's like asking why there wasn't a leader class Alternators or Titanium toy. Granted, Universe has more size diversity than either of those, but it's still not the star of the show. The big expensive toys will always be in line with what the current fiction/TV/movie is doing. That's why you shouldn't expect an Animated Leader/Supreme class toy from this point forward until the movie line dies out and also why no one expected a Universe 1.0 repaint during the UT lines existence.

I'd say the universe ultras were good.

If your dieing for something big Toys R Us did that Unicron reissue via neo universe packageing.

As a sub-line, Universe was purposely limited to a smaller variety of size classes. Deluxe and Ultra class for new figures, with the Voyager class being made up solely of repaints (and eventually Inferno). No Scouts or Leaders, and the only Supreme was the TRU exclusive repackaging of Armada Unicron.

I could see Hasbro doing a TRU exclusive of Energon Omega Supreme in G1 colors, but like others have said Universe is a filler line and not the main one where the leader class figures would end up.

Yeah, as has been said, Universe was always a sub-line and never the main one so it was never designed with the intention of having Leaders or Supremes in it. Originally it wasn't going to have Voyagers in it either (as they originally wanted to keep Voyagers and Ultras separated between the two lines as they claim the target audience tends to confuse the two size classes). Also, they never designed scouts for the line either, but we haven't had main line scouts since Cybertron so that's not a surprise really.

So, it was designed with the intention of having Legends, Deluxes, Voyagers (strictly repaints until Inferno) & Ultras. Anything else was do to someplace (like TRU) getting an exclusive.

So, Universe will probably never see Leaders or Supremes in it, as it's a sub-line, unless someone gets one as an exclusive. Though, with the return of Scouts in RotF... I hope that when Universe returns in 2010 that they release some of the Minibots/Cassettes in that size class.
