Besides, I doubt Michael Bay would ever care enough to actually properly explain something like that. Just look how he cut the twins and their deaths and just pretended they never existed, along with the Arcee bikes.

 

Keep Ratchet and Sideswipe but ditch the other 2. Dino was sideswipe 0.5 and the wreckers served their purpose in DOTM but they should leave some room for some new characters. Ratchet and Sideswipe should be co-second in commands.

 

The Arcee triplets were all killed in ROTF onscreen, hence their disappearance in DOTM. The bumbling Twins were cut out because they were obviously the most hated in ROTF.

 

Ratchet and Sideswipe are staying unless one or both gets killed off in the fourth film. I expect Sideswipe to die next anyway because for some Bay reason, the SICs always die.

 

I bet the next thread on the movie forum will be something along the lines of "what if aliens really invaded earth and prevented the production of TF4?"

Actually, the first three-quarters of TF4 focus entirely on Ratchet, as he struggles to come to terms with the death of Ironhide. It's going to be told almost entirely visually, with very few words, except for a quiet, recurring musical motif. There's a very powerful scene where the medic finds an a bit of rusty metal on an overgrown battlefield, picks it up, and just stands there, turning it over in his hands and looking at it, for a solid ten minutes. The scene breaks with a single word. "Helicopter," he says, and then puts the piece down, gently, and there's a fade-out on that bit of scrap metal, gleaming in the sunset.

(This is right before the scene of the children playing ball in the bombed-out alley, remember?)

I have to admit that a lot of the scenes have a certain eerie unreality to them. It's a very impressionistic film in some ways, and maybe the French singer may not appeal to everyone, but I must say, Transformers 4 is magnificent, a great example of the work coming out of Monsieur Bay's studio in Southern France.

 

Might be a blessing.... Bay can die in a random explosion, therefore bringing the need for an actual BADASS director to do TF4.

No, he doesn't. Explanation was provided for all previous characters in comics and the like. The Twins were stated somewhere to have been killed by Devastator, not sure where.

And yeah, they'd do what they always do. Killed in comics that took place between movies.

 

The same way they explained Jolt, the Arcee triplets, and the Twins missing from Dark of the Moo...oh, yeah...

 

The Twins would actually have been killed by Sentinel Prime along with Ironhide if they had made it into the final cut of the film.

 

Jolt was murdered by Shockwave. The Arcee triplets were killed by random Protoforms and a Bonecrusher drone.

 

Not everyone reads the comics.

To the average movie going fan, those characters disappeared sans explanation.

 

Simple. They all went to the same place Barricade stayed at during ROTF.

Also, OP, please stop raping the "new thread" button simply to ask pointless questions that are easily answered if you just think hard enough about them.

 

A comic book might try to explain it, but for all the bluster some people have about continuity the movies just don't seem to care about continuity. Just go back to the first film where Sam spots Barricade only for Barricade to completely disappear from the film with no explanation.

Plus no one knows what in the world "re-imagined" means. After The Amazing Spider Man took in $705 million worldwide even with competition from Batman by the time filming starts "re-imagined" could mean "reboot" in everything but name.

 

Show me where that happens in the movie?  

 

Jolt's death is canon. The death of the Arcee Triplets is shown onscreen in ROTF, just gotta pay close attention.

 

I wonder if there was so much concern when most of the G1 season 2 cast didn't bother to show up for the '86 movie.
