Well, today I just happened to have played with my recent purchase and I noticed something on the inside of the cab parts that are the shoulders...

Now, the one who sold me (a member on this board...) this told me it's a Takara Galaxy Force Convoy. So I thought "Yay, superior Japanese Plastic Optimus Prime goodness!". Yeah, I'm weird.

Anyways... I found these words:

(copyright symbol) TAKARA 2004
MADE IN CHINA

If this was a Takara version, wouldn't that be in Japanese... and have no mention at ALL of Hasbro?

Well I have the Galaxy Force Convoy if you look at the link above you will notice that the cyber key isn't painted on the Hasbro version and that the super mode wings are detachable on the Hasbro version (They are not on the Takara version).

 

First off...

Myth.

Now, to answer the question, the Hasbro release has removable wings on the trailer portion. They snap into place via connector tabs and are removable as one of Hasbro's goals is to produce toys that can come apart without breaking.

The Takara version has metal pins holding the wings in place.

Also, the Takara version has a fully painted Cyber Planet Key.

And further, most of the toys since Armada have been joint Hasbro/Takara ventures.

 

Ah, okey day. I see that there is a Metal Pin holding the wings on mine. Guess it is a Takara version. Haha... *Ahem*

Wait, sorry... can you please tell me what determines the "wings"? Like, the whole wing including blaster, or that "wing-like" part that folds out to be a stand in the turret mode?

 

Yeah, just the wings, not the bit with the wheels on. The wheel section's pinned regardless, but if the wings themselves are pinned, then it's Galaxy Convoy. If you can pull them out, it's Prime.

 

Look at the link I provided in the parts section if those parts of the wings are detachable it's the Hasbro version.

IT is BLUE, hasbro don't make galaxy prime in blue.

Sonic Bomber has CHROME, hasbro doesn't use chrome....

What the hell just happened?

 

A BST dispute.

 

I sold him those two, perhaps a month ago.

After receiving it, he complains at me, saying he's ok with the fact they are hasbro but I shouldn't have lied to him that they were Takara.

I told him, I didn't lie, they are takara.

He seemed to finally awaken from his ******ed state of mind.

Now all of a sudden, 1 month later, he comes around and says the same thing.

"I don't mind its hasbro, just wish you didn't say it's Takara"

HOW IS THIS HASBRO?

Nonetheless, Code is definitely right. Both are Takara versions.
