I recently read that Takara will be restarting the encore line. and obviously the next encore to be released will be devastator, which by the way preordered as i never had it as a kid. Actually I had just a few transformers as a kid and my favorite was Jetfire. I know this guy will sell, just check ebay. So, how can I send Takara a message and say Jetfire has a following and many of us want a reissue/encore Jetfire.

I may be wrong on this, but I believe Bandai owns the rights to the original Jetfire figure. If so, I think it will be a cold day in hell before Takara can re-release it.

You can do that with the almighty power of Internet petitions!

    ...

Seriously, just get yourself a Classics Jetfire. It's a great toy and, dare I say it, better than the original.

Yeah, I doubt Jetfire will be rereleased, seeing as how he's a Macross mold and all.

This Takara would have to buy the mold from Bandai who is their biggest competitor in Japan so the odds are so small as to be not worth figuring out.

That said if by some miracle it did happen it would be a huge seller.

    it is practically physically impossible

it is a bandai mold from macross hasbro borrowed to make jetfire, it will never be reissued as g1 jetfire ever again

though you can just get one of the many releases of the mold or remakes and all from bandai and slap autobot symbols on it and call it a day basically

Others have already said this but I'm going to say it anyway: not gonna happen, ever. The mold belongs to Bandai.

Like Guard Convoy said, Bandai has reissued the mold several times in the past so your best bet is to get one of those and apply G1 Jetfire stickers to it.

Also, shouldn't this thread be in the TF Toys forum?

The original company was Takatoku toys. The Mold was designed by Shoji Kawamori. Not sure how Takatoku toys went under, but after they did....Bandai got a hold of the molds :)

You can always purchase their 1/55 Super VF-1S and repaint him

    Two things:

    1. There isn't a damn thing you can do. Transformers collectors have very little sway in the decisions of the brand. Granted Encore is a collectors line, but most of us are in Hasbro's market, not Takara's. They have no reason to pander to us.

    2. The Jetfire mold is in fact a Macross Valkyrie. Macross is owned by Bandai, TakaraTomy's main competitor. It'll be a cold day in hell when Bandai intentionally helps its competitor make money. I can only see a Jetfire reissue happening if Bandai buys Tomy, and that would be decades from now, if ever.

If you put a quarter in a jar every day, you'll own a minty Jetfire long before any reissues happen.

One of these days....if I ever get bored enough, I might pick up a Yamato Macross Valk....and see if I can repaint him into Jetfire colors .....or unless....someone beats me to it

Honestly I have a surefire way.

Get everyone on the TFW2005 boards (50,000 users on this board) to participate in a giant lottery syndicate, for every major lottery in the world.

Once we win all the major lotteries we can take all that money and buy Bandai out, and then MAKE them reissue the Macross Valk as Jetfire. We can also all then post in the 'who has won the lottery thread' as winners!

    This plan is 'practically' foolproof!

    Who's with me?

lol I'd be down :D  But knowing me and my fiending for articulation, I'd rather buy out Yamato and have them work with Hasbro/Takara to release a 1/48 scale valk in G1 Jetfire colors. In fact, Now that I think about it, if I bought the Hikaru VF-1S from DYRL, and repaint some super/strike parts......get some reprolabels maybe?....It could work.

LOL Well, I used to have that one ....before I sold it due to hard times :(  Now....if I get another one....I'm making him into Jetfire. Yes, I know the f**ker is expensive, but I don't care :D  For me, he'd be the first G1 like "Jetfire" that's articulate and more poseable than the original :D

    It's really not that hard:

    (1) Save up as much money as you can.
    (2) Purchase Bandai.
    (3) Give Jetfire mold to Takara.
    (4) ???
    (5) Profit!

Take a look at the more recent 1/60s before you decide. I like them better than the 1/48. Just make sure you get a version 2 so your shoulders don't assplode.
