How can I break myself from biting my nails and such? I keep bitting them til they bleed and hurt.
Shouldn't the bleeding be enough to stop you?
When you get the urge to do so, try to do something else. Anything to take your mind off of it.
get some of that stuff that makes them taste bad. In the meantime, put vinegar on your fingertips, unless that makes it impossible to type.
bandaids on your fingertips, hot sauce
if it is a stress reliever solve the stress issue
I've tried everyting I can possibly can. I put tobasco sauce on them and I ended up liking the darned stuff.
Dave's Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce
Did you get the bitter apple stuff specially designed to help people break the habits?
I found this stuff at wal mart but i dont know yet
What causes you to do it to begin with? Stress? A zombie like taste for human flesh? Once you answer that, you can stop the cause at it's source.
Biting nails is worrysome, but instead of treating the symptom, try to find and eliminate the core problem.
See a psychiatrist.
I have a better solution. Don't bite YOUR nails...bite someone else's.

Nothing can break it for you.
You are addicted to do this and like most people who are addicted to stuff, only they can end it.
Take myself, I gave up soft drinks and sweets because I wanted to do so. Are you really ready to quit doing that? If you not 100% ready to stop it, you are just going to go back to doing it.
Paint your fingernails with polish, clear if you want to do it discreetly. It's what I did years and years to stop myself from biting.
SWEET - totally gonna order that! I actually tried a shrimp with ghost pepper sauce on it 2 weeks ago. Was certainly hot, but not as much as I thought it would be. Lasted about 3 or 4 minutes without drinking anything.
As for the nail thing, OP, you might need professional help if you're causing harm to yourself, and I'm being serious.
Might just be that he's ripping out the cuticle when he's biting them, which can cause swelling and pain. Not uncommon for nail biters.
