Watch it more. Leave your TV on overnight. Set every show to your DVR queue, and record every episode.

There is a strong possability that Hasbro/Discovery won't have to do much other than throw money at it for advertising and allow it on lower cable packages. One of the major hurdles though is getting the Hub in as an "established" network like CN or Nick that people will be willing to back with show pitches and money.

It's certainly not for lack of programming. I bumped in to a father at Target the other day who said that his son likes watching not just Prime, but also the airings of the G1 cartoons as well. Several other stories like this that include other shows on the Hub. (And we all know that MLP:FiM is doing...disturbingly well. :lol )

The demographic is there, it's just more expensive than it should be and not enough people know about it.

It may sound redundant but the best way for the Hub to truely survive is if the parent companies don't give up on it just because it isn't immediately turning big profit and ratings.

So I found this while browsing the Transformers thread on /co/:

"Recent filings are NOT related to the Hub or the Hub's performance. The debt relates to a transaction announced in December well before any useful Hub ratings were generated. The changes to licensing fees are not performance related and are, instead, related to making sure the Hub's value as collateral is high."

I wouldn't be planning on any funeral for The Hub just yet. The rating might not be what they had originally projected but for a brand new network in a busy kids market in a premium cable package for most people it's not doing turn out the lights horrible.

Of course there are some things it can do to help those ratings.

Finding a way to move into a basic cable package would open the network to more homes.

They could continue to bring in reruns of cartoons and family friendly programing that you can't find anywhere else. One of my gay friends was all over Facebook with excitement about how The Hub was going to start showing Jem and the Holograms.

Toys on the shelves of the cartoon characters might help kids get interested in The Hub shows. I think something like Transformers Prime Bulkhead on the shelves will get kids more interested than just a little sticker on the toy packaging.

And the biggest thing is keep rolling out new cartoon series. It's a tough thing to do for a new network but that's how most of the networks like Sci Fi managed to crawl out of obscurity.

I don't know, find their own niche? Right now the channel is kinda insane, it shows kid shows, it shows old-ass sitcoms, it shows shows that are barely for kids.... it's just so mixed and crazy.

I just hope Hasbro Studios starts selling shows for more channels too, I don't really care about the Hub itself, but I do love Renegades, FiM, Prime, it's all very quality material specially for a 1 year old studio, so I wish Hasbro the best luck with their own production.

Maybe if they made Hub more accessible for people -- not just have it as part of some premium package on cable -- then it will draw more viewers in.

I don't get the Hub channel on my family's Dish Network (in fact, is the Hub even available on Dish and Direct-TV, and if so, is it only available in select packages?). It would be nice if I could get the Hub channel without costing my family an arm and a leg, then I would be very happy to watch it and help boost its ratings.

How about making a deal with one of the "Big Broadcasting Network" for showing on their Saturday Morning Program.

Basically, they need to include it in the basic cable packages, they could get rid of those stupid shopping channels, no one cares about those anyway.

I get the Hub with my basic Direct-TV package, or at least I think I do. I used to get Discovery kids, so I think the Hub just replaced DK for me.

I wish i could watch it. I dont have that channel. I wish they would move it to regular cable. For now I rely on DarkPrimes videos or youtube. If they where smart they would move it to basic cable and they would prob ten fold there ratings.

Agreed. I don't get the HUB either. If I did I would Watch it all the time.
