Revoltech: Three Transformation Valkyrie VF-1J Hikaru Ichijo (#084) - Macross Figures at BigBadToyStore If it's the right size, I wouldn't mind getting this as a suitable replacement for a Jetfire reissue. Any ideas as to how big it is?
Yeah, they're quite tiny - somewhere between scout and delux sized. They're a little bit of a floppy mess too, unfortunately. Peaugh did a youtube review of them recently. Check that out.
I don't have this particular one but based on previous revoltech figures it should be around 6 inches.

classics sky/jetfire looks nothing like the g1 toy though. the nearest he'll get to the g1 figure to is a 1/55 bandai superchunky valkrie, which sucks compared to the yamoto ones.
Oh, well I have Classics Jetfire. I was just hoping for a good stand-in for my reissue collection. I kinda thought it'd be small based on their listed shipping weight.
well, quite. cartoon jetfire looked rubbish - only his apparent ability to shrink and grow at random made him totally awesome.
The transformable VF-1S is a bit bigger than regular Revoltech figures. Not big enough to stand in for Jetfire with regular TFs, but he'd look good with the other Revoltech TFs. Especially if Reprolablels do my suggestion of a sticker set to turn him into Jetfire.
Transformable next to regular: Regular next to other TFs: Hmm, not the best shot as the Valkrie is on it's stand and being partially obscured by Prime's trailer. I'm sure someone can post a better shot if you need one.
Don't get the revoltech if size is the issue. But if you wind up looking at other large valkeries a vintage g1 jetfire without the armor could be cheaper. I was in your position before. But I was completely impressed by g1 jetfire when I bought a non-equipped one for $40. The die cast, spring loaded wheels, and articulation make it a stand out perfect g1 figure. eventually I got two more Here are my Jetfires today (tracks is close to the camera):
