Pretender Optimal Optimus.

Why Pretender? Make him so the original Transmetal can also be included and can plug into the body of Optimal to recreate the "powering up" of the original.

When you've got a toy like that which is so good to begin with, the logical course for a remake is to go an entirely new direction, IMO. The transformation of Transmetal into Optimal is a great scene, so why not aim for having two toys in one?

 

Neat idea. But either Optimal would need to be huge or TM Primal will have to be quite small. But thats a great idea.

 

I think the 10th anniversary one is a pretty good filler for a Classics version. The new re-imagined deluxe one.

 

I think the original Optimal optimus, is perfectly fine in terms of size, and playability. I don't want or need another one. That one defines my BW collection.

 

This. Any Beast Wars would be good, and why not a remake of a great figure? I'm all for Optimal Optimus!

 

also a robot mode chest mounted cockpit that can rise up in front of the chest cannons when the cannons are folded away into the chest upepr body itself

I'm another that sees no real problems with the original (I have that and Primal Prime, and love both), so a new Optimal Optimus takes a backseat behind Rhinox, Blackarachnia, and some of the Beast Machines characters in a "Who could badly use an updated toy?" debate.

That said, if it turned up in Classics I'd be just fine with it and would probably pick it up since I love the design and wouldn't mind a little extra articulation...I didn't feel the G2 Prime design "needed" an update, but I'll still buy the new rendition too.

 

A new mold for OpOp/PriPri would be awesome but I have had Optimal Optimus before and currently have Primal Prime and I gotta say both are awesome, though they could be a bit better. I hate that you can't retract the the chest guns and put the cockpit higher on the chest in their place like he could in the show/comics.

I'd be happy if FP, Headrobots or anyone else released an upgrade kit for the mold to make it more toon/comic accurate. New chest/cannons/cockpit apparatus and a new head would be awesome. The OpOp version could even come with a Prime "Spark" that could be stored in the cockpit for toon accuracy. I'd be happy with this.

 

Good idea. Make the shell compatible with an all-new Quickstrike as well.

Honestly most of the Beast Wars toys are perfect interpretations of the characters as it is.

 

True, so lets gets the ones that are not made.

Like a show like BA or deluxe season one Rattap, Airazor, and Terrorsuar. Then with season two, TM Rattrap with a turning back to allow the big wheels on top. Also a TM Megatron free of GPS. Also a new Agenda Ravage.

I think the only Beast Wars character that is in dire need of an update is Rhinox (in voyager class).

 

I think the original Blackarachnia needs an update most of all... Terrorsaur could also use one.

 

How about just a straight reissue of the original mold with a new head:

I say this pretty much whenever Beast Wars is mentioned, but I would love a Beast Wars centric update line. That would be a dream come true, not that they all were inaccurate, but I'd want everyone to be updated. A new Optimal Optimus with added articulation, the ability to cover his cannons with his cockpit, and the ability to fold the back of his cannon to have it placed against his back like on the show would be sublime. However, I think it would be cool if he had more features added to him.

Personally, I always felt that Optimus' upgrades were worse each time. His original had the best color scheme and the best features/weapon layouts. I really hate how he lost all of his hidden weapons and his swords as he upgraded. So I would love it if Hasbro/Takara added some hidden swords on his legs near where the toy's extra missiles were and give him his old school forearm blasters back instead of having that stupid shield blowing off ability. Just to clarify, I don't mean get rid of the ability to take off the shields, but make it so that the actual forearms don't have the ability to launch the shields off, but instead have the ability to have a cannon pop up.
