I mean Iceman losing his powers. What the hell? I bet in a year or two they'll find a way to give his powers back, because thats just stupid.

God I hope thats the case.

Just as well, the whole body made out of ice thing was pretty dumb anyway.

I used to be really upset at what HoM was doing to the mutants, but the more I think about it the more I'm okay with it. The X-Books have been kinda direction-less lately, and this might be a good springboard for some new interesting stories. Besides, it's not like they can't undo it if it doesn't work.

And really, it'll be nice to never hear Sofia say "The wind is carrying me their voices" anymore. Good God, she talks like Storm did on the Fox cartoon. :rolleyes2

Y'know. Notice how all the "depowered" where the least flashyest.

That sucks bullocks because then X-Men will just turn into a pure superhero book again. =(

Not that it hasn't allways been a superhero book. But it whas the least superheroic US mainstream comic book line in a company dedicated to super hero comics and thats really something.

God this book sounds retarded. I would wager with anyone that all the mutants who are depowered in HoM will return full power within a year.

    Gotta disagree with you there.

It'll be about two years. :p

Seriously, Magneto without his powers? No way they'll let that last. And as soon as one character gets his powers back, it's just going to open the floodgate. Kinda like how Colossus broke the "dead means dead" rule and less than six months later Psylocke was back and kicking, with Hawkeye not that far behind.

This issue was awesome. I'm in agreement with the people who said that the mutants will get their powers back(or at least some of them) it's probably going to hinge on Layla(who still remembers what happened). I can't believe that they took away Magneto and Iceman's powers though.

One thing I've realised by reading bits of this story is that Wanda created a new reality where mutants are dominant. Now that reality is changing to one where only a handful of mutants now exist, which means it's not the universe that was shown at the beginning.

Marvel have giving themselves a huge get out clause from the aftermath of this.

Bobby and Jubilation hurt. Two of my 3 favorites right there.

Sad about Sophia and Tag too. Academy X has been one of the few bright spots in the mostly dull X-Universe lately.

houes of M has finally totally destroyed wanda for me. what she's done goes beyond the pail the best anology is this:

Basically, Wanda says that mutants are less than human.

The X-Men were always a representative of a discriminated minority, fighting to be accepted for who they are. Now, Wanda is not an X-Man and a little f--ked in the head, but thematically this is like a black person denying his race, because he secretly always wanted to be white AND forcing this view upon others. Which is, pretty much, not cool at all.

also this whole story could of fit within 1 48 page issue the rest was just padding. so much talking heads bendis likes decompression too much.

then theres all the stories which were set up by the writters like claremont, hine, milligan only to find themselves loosing the books or storylines they were working on all for bendis and quesuda's amusement

also 225 is not 4% of 16 million

quesuda and bendis are too fucking stupid to use such a get out clause. they have claimed that house of m happened in the reall 616 like the original age of apocalypse did so its not an alternate reality.

personally i think this just shows how crap bendis is at mainstream writing

and right now i want to put a bullet through wanda and pietro's face never did like the incestuous bastards
