That's the point.....they WANT to sell them again, and are going to the fans to get the ideas for them, rather then putting out something people won't buy.

I stopped buying TF shirts at Hot Topic ages ago. I liked the retro and Japanese shirts they used to have but the hip hop and club styled ones aren't for me.

What I wish they would do is make a decent belt buckle. They had that goofy one where you could flip between the Autobot and Decepticon insignia, but it looked cheap and was kinda small.

I always love the shirts that don't give away what they're from right away. Like a little nod to the show/ series/ movie etc.

You know how they have those shirts with the muscles or tuxedo's, to make it see real. How about an Optimus Prime Chest. SOOOOOO COOOLLL!

They had that kind of shirt for Hot Rod... needless to say it didn't look very good haha...

I think something with Beast Wars or G2 would rock

Formalities aside, we should maybe get some designs going. Any artists in the house?

This sounds all well and good, except for the part that goes:

Basically, HotTopic is expecting us to do their work for them. Don't they pay people on their design staff to come up with t-shirt designs?

If they think I'm going to expend the time, effort, energy, and creative juices to make a design that will be used on tens if not hundreds of thousands of t-shirts and gleefully hand over all intellectual property rights to them and not get any kind of credit or commission or royalties whatsoever, then they can go fornicate themselves with a big stick.

Uhhh, no where on the webpage doesn't it say to draw any designs or artwork and submit them, it says to come up with an idea, something you would like to see. You know, a text description.
