So I bought the new Hotshot figure from a TRU here in Georgia, got him home opened him and *tried* to transform him, thats right I tried to transform him. His rear valence just does not fold out wide enough like they show in the pics. It is either wedged to either side of his spoiler and pops out of place when you move it, or you have to push his shoulders into a hunched position just to give those mickey mouse peice of crap hinges in the back enough clearance to let the valences swing out properly. I don't know what went wrong he doesn't even match the pictures on his card there is a male and female yellow plug that would connect his rear when in car mode. On my version there are 2 black plastic plugs in place held there by screws. I learned to expect issues like this with some of the older movie figures but new Universe???? Inferno and Hound are some of the best figures I have ever bought. What the hell went wrong with this guy? Anyone else horribly disappointed by this one?

I'm more disappointed with Jolt than I am with Hotshot. Hotshot's decent, but his arm movement is restricted by the shoulder kibble.

I'm not THAT let down by Hot Shot, I figgured the shoulder articulation would be bad the first time I saw those prototype pics you posted.

Totally agreed. Hot Shot is better than the Armada version, but Armada Jolt is better than the Universe counterpart by far.

He's definetly nothing special. But I like his car alt mode alot. The shoulders are restricted and at least the feet on mine suck, but whatever. I wouldn't call it plastic crap.

Only reason I'm calling it crap is the functionality he doesn't transform without forcing some parts in the wrong place.. that preview pic shows him how he is supposed to look. I can't get that rear piece to go THAT far its like he's missing another hinge or socket. Overall really frustrating. He's just going to have to go into my radicons box and I'll see if I can mod him at some point and remedy this. Just wish there had been more reviews on this one. I wouldn't have bothered buying him.

My friend told me he is not worth it. Yesterday, I saw him at Target. I didn't get him though, but I got the purple shockwave and sunstorm packs. I'm so glad I listened...

If you pop off the panels and switch their places they fit nicely in bot mode. It turns him into a partsformer though.

I think he's a great figure. The unwieldy backpack kibble bugged the hell out of me at first, too, but I've since learned that if you just pop the damn things off and swap them to the other side, it drastically improves his poseability and appearance:

It might involve a bit of partsforming, but it really improves the figure 100% in my opinion. Doing this took him from a toy I kind of regretted getting to one of my favorite Universe 2 figures.

Mind you, Jolt is still total shit. Ain't nothing gonna fix that.

No problems with mine, except Jolt has a lot of little extra "flakes" hanging off in some parts.

I did the same to Hot Shot, now he like awesome, to bad hes in the same wave as Ratchet, so that why he practically sucks, now if Hot Shot was packaged with Cheetor, he might have better feedback, I love Universe Ratchet.

Hot SHot is kewl, but those back pieces were poorly designed. The Parts Forming does improve it, but I feel that it's kinda lame. Still like the fig though...

Jolt's a piece of shiza though. Really a pathetic effort with him.

I determined not to think about getting this guy since watching Peaugh's review.
