Not sure if this is supposed to be made public or not so I'll let the Mods decide if this stays up but I just booked a hotel room at the Sheraton in Pasadena for the convention under the group Transformers Collector's Club (I think) from May 27-31.

They said they have limited double bed rooms and that I was the first to reserve. Cost was $139 a night.

I just booked mine and I was told the standard room with the king bed would be 129 but apparently the less rooms the higher the price goes so book fast.

How soon do these hotel blocks typically sell out? This would be my first Botcon, but we're not sure if we want to stay next door or somewhere else. It looks like, from last year's threads, that the Millennium Hotel sold out in early March. I don't want to wait that long, but these things won't go prior to pre-registration, will they?

I'd recommend you just reserve and cancel if you change your mind. If we use Botcon 2007 as the example, those hotels went fairly fast and they had to find 3 additional hotels for more space. Besides, there is no cost to cancel as long as it's done a few days prior.

Like Big Filipino said, reserve it now, you can always cancel with no penalty up until the day before arrival they told me.

    Kept costs low.

Kept sexual tension high. (6am arrival -> spoon with Deefuzz -> Deefuzz moves to the floor :(  )

right now, there are 3 people in my room. In terms of the max, I have been to events during college and we would have 8 people per a room....it was a slumber party but I would not recommend this.

Anyways, I recommend in booking a room as quickly as you can. I had to put a deposit down in order to hold the room.

I asked when I booked and if you get the 2 double beds room the max they allow is 5, a king bed its 3. So it looks like they will provide a rollaway bed per room. Cause that doesn't prevent more people staying but is likely the maximum number or key cards you can get.
