I want it now...
Gosh is that awesome...looks like Reeve jumped out of the silver screen.
Wow! That is looking incredible.
Definitely nice, looks like I have another one to add to my Hot Toys collection
Now thats the superman i grew up with and love.
Sideshow will have an exclusive version that comes with a kryptonite chain.
Thats pretty damn awesome.
I actually think the likeness is a bit off, moreso than I'd expect from Hot Toys. I think it's mainly in the eyes not quite matching. Still, it's a prototype & the likeness is still pretty impressive.
I think it's just nitpicking at this point, like with all Hot Toys that are based on the actor's likeness, in certain angles the look is dead on, that's because the sculptors are working with photographs from various angles rather than digital capture. With that said this sculpt has the most likeness in various angles out of any Hot Toys figure I have ever seen.
that figure needs a lois.
Care to elaborate?
Don't like the look of those movies. Especially Luthor. Hot toys really should have went with Superman Returns versions.
They did that already
You don't like the look of those movies, that's your opinion, but I don't see what's "fail" about it, it's an amazing likeness.
It is a very good likeness. Of someone who should never have been cast to play Superman. I never though Reeve looked right as Superman. Something about his performance always mad me think of some Mr. Durp playing dress-up. It fails because it exists at all.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion (and believe me, I'm not bashing you here), but I've always seen Christopher Reeve referred to as the quintessential representation of Superman. He "is" Superman.
Honestly, this is the first time that I've ever seen somebody say that he was miscast. Who do you think would have been a better fit at the time (mid/late 70's)?
That's not a game I'm willing play, ever. A better game would be to look at who else Donner auditioned. A far as I'm concerned of the main players in that first movie only Lois Lane was cast properly. And I've felt like this since I first saw it when I was around 10 (which is 1991). Dean Cain was a better Superman than Christopher Reeve.
To me Brandon Routh is the best live action Superman. I really enjoyed Superman Returns, even the stalker bits.
I get what lars is saying about Reeves, but for me, that was the first time I saw Superman fly. I remember watching as a kid and being totally blown out of my mind. I loved those movies. They had action and drama and characters and humor. I would run around my house wearing my mom's scarf pretending to be Superman. Yeah, some of the casting seems off today, and with a modern Superman movie, there is no way you'd cast someone like Reeves today. However, he was the first Superman for me, and fond childhood memories hold a lot of weight with me. It's why I collect, and why Superman is my #1 superhero. This toy looks awesome. I don't own any Hot Toys figures, but this may be my first.
Man I love that mold. I remember having the old Mego figure back in the day and that only had a mild resemblance but this is perfect. I wish I had the cash for him.
And I always though that it looked fake.
