Since I had the camera out snapping pics of Monstructor & Dinoking, I pulled out my G1 Hot Spot and Guard City's Fire Chief to do some comparison photos. Shame my Fire Chief doesn't have all of his stickers...

    nice.

I bought all of my protectobots off ebay and they are a little worn down. These on the otherhand look nice and minty.

I would doubt it, that was well after Die-Cast was phased out

Can't offer any concrete answer, but since the line was winding down at that point I'd very much doubt there's a diecast version.

I can confirm, too - plastic chest. Guard City and Battle Gaia had such limited production runs for the Operation Combination line, I'd be REALLY surprised if there were both a metal and plastic chest version out there.

I can't figure out why the KO makers have never (except for the Red Hotspot) used the Guard City and Battle Gaea schemes. I know I'd buy a set of those - I'm afraid to touch the vintage ones!
